Does 1080p lag Smash 4?

Probably not in 1v1s. My TV's junk so I wouldn't know...

If there's actual proof of this it's worth bringing up but until then, it's likely people just have poor gaming televisions more so than any Nintendo hardware related fault (I'm not saying it's impossible though)
