Hello people,
I press L slightly (analogical input) to L- cancel but some friends press their shoulder button all the way down (digital input). I have heard it is more beneficial to press it slightly to preserve the tech window but I would like to know what most people actually does. Btw, I know you can L-cancel with Z but I just want to know this.

Yeah doing it that way only has benefits. I don't think it's a big deal if you press it all the way but I would advise anyone starting out to only soft press it.

Since I use L only for l-canceling, I disabled the digital press from L to avoid using my tech window when wanting to l-cancel. That's done by removing the conductive rubber pad from the trigger. I stopped doing that to my controllers once I noticed that I only soft-pressed anyways.

I personally press mine all the way down, simply from years of habit.

Objectively, its better to soft press the lcancel. The reason is that your tech window is not triggered by a soft press, so if you are hit out of an aerial when you tried to lcancel, you will still be able to tech. It is especially good for spacie players.
