Smash 3DS Do We Seriously Still Not Know if Smash Run Will Be Online?

I have heard so many different answers to this that it has honestly started to eat away at me a bit. I'm sure this may have been discussed some time ago, but do we have any concrete information saying Smash Run will be online? We know for sure it's local, and apparently several sources say that it will be, but I really don't know. Anyone mind easing the doubts of a poor old 19 year old so that he may rest easier tonight?

I hate to be picky, but could you give me an exact time that he said that? Because I believe I know what you're talking about and I don't think it's an entirely straight answer.

He says in the Direct that "It's way different than a simple online match".

He doesn't explicitly state it's an online mode, but I see no reason to believe otherwise.

I hope it has online, but will probably be playing it mostly local regardless.

Like everyone else said I'm pretty sure he said it in the Smash direct. You could watch it again to double check if you want.

Yeah unfortunately there is no OFFICIAL confirmation outside of a statement made by Sakurai during the direct, which even then wasn't entirely clear. We have not seen a picture of Smash run's online option, so there's no confirmation. However, there is strong reason to believe there is. We'll just have to wait and see. Rest easy until then.

It seems to be one of the biggest game modes in the 3DS version, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't.

I did watch a video where a Nintendo rep at E3 claimed it was online. Also, GameXplain were at some closed-event and were told it was online there too.
