I'm an idiot. When I saw the name of this thread the first thing I thought was that it was a thread about Donkey Kong music in Brawl. >.<

Anyway, those are some very nice choices. All beatiful compositions that could only be improved in Brawl. Though, personally, I'd like to hear the New Age Retro Hippy battle theme in Brawl over some other Earthbound songs. That one's just so memorable. And funny :p

nice songs. I love wolfs theme, and i always have. Its just such a great song, and coming from a video game. you would think a song like that would be the main track on jay-z's cd(imagine he wasnt a rapper) i listen to that starfox theme so much its on my ipod!

Awesome choices for Brawl songs. As for my choices, they would have to go as follows:

1. Final Battle with Zant

This is easily the best rack in all of Zelda: Twilight Princess and if they were going to add an alternate track for a Twilight Princess satge, this would be it. Also, listen to the entire song carefully if you've played TP. It's actually a strange orchestrated/techno mash-up of all of boss themes in the game!

2. Dragon Roost Island Theme

This is from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and is a beautiful track. If they were going to have a Wind Waker theme level, THIS HAS TO BE THE MUSIC. Hands down, the best Zelda song, in my opinion, ever written. Oh and since its already orchestrated, less work for them.

3. Delfino Plaza

It's inevitable, there's going to be SOMETHING from Super Mario Sunshine in the game. It just depends on what the song will be. This I believe would be the best choice. Again, it's fully orchestrated and it really fits in well with the SSBB enviornment.

4. Theme of Donut Lifts

In all honesty, i believe that this track is already in the game, it's just a matter of them revealing it but this is the theme of Donut Lifts from Yoshi's island (Donut Lifts is what the level already shown is based on). So whatever, this is already in the game (99.9 % sure) and it's fits with Brawl well.

Those are my choices...enjoy and comment!

Ooh! My favorite thread is back again!

@Brawliness:

1. I'll agree it could be used as an alternate Twilight Princess track, but in all honesty, the Final Battle theme is much better (IMO) and would work great if Ganondorf was given a stage. But I'll level with you, and give it a maybe.

2. How did I overlook this? Absolutey! It is one of the greatest Zelda tracks of all time (I still like the mountain theme from LA better) but if any aspects of Wind Waker are used in the game, a remixed battle version of this would not just be likely, it would be necessary. Great pick!

3. Ehhh. I may be biased here (having never played SMSS before) but that really doesn't sound like it fits the whole SSB repitoire. I could be wrong, but there's so much other Mario music out there that's more... epic (I think that's the word I'm looking for) than this. But it's your opinion. Don't let me change your mind.

4. I agree. It's a very common and well known Yoshi song, and outside of his original SSB64 stage, Yoshi hasn't had much music of his own. This would fit it well. And the stages we've seen in the second trailer also supports this.

Yes.
I've been thinking about writing this post for quite a while and this thread's resurrection gives me a nice opportunity.

Pig Army Theme - Mother 3

Yeah, GBA's sound quality isn't exactly great...

Anyway, this is the one theme I'm hoping for the most. It's the Pig Army anthem from Mother 3, because I believe that Mother 3 needs at least some kind of SSBB representation. I mean, there was a Mother 1 song in Melee... Even if Brawl doesn't get any Mother 3 characters or stages, I think some music from it should be in.

So, anyway, the Pig Army theme is very often used in the game and lots of tracks have parts of it in them. I'd even say that it is Mother 3's main theme. And, um, so is Love Theme, but I'm talking about the Pig Army theme here. :p
The version I have linked here is called "His Theme" and while I think there are much better arrangements of it in the game, this is probably the only one in which the entire theme is heard.

It also seems to a pretty dynamic track (
Absolutely Safe Capsule is creepy
) so it shouldn't be too hard to make it fit in SSB.

nice pic, I love Mother 3, (I imported it w00t!) and if any character from the game wheter it's Claus, Lucas, or Flint, this song should be in, it's very Brawl-esque if u ask me, oh and I found another song that would go great in Brawl.

Miror B.'s Retro Groove

This song is from Pokemon Colosseum, as anyone who has played the game before knows. This would be the PERFECT music for a Colosseum level and really would fit in with the mood of stage from Brawl.

(P.S. @ DestructionKing)

Do u mean this song? That's Ganondorf's Final Battle Theme from Twilight Princess...

I'm with you on the final batle from Wind Waker theme. That's is killer. But Zant's theme, imo, is better. And yeah, the frog miniboss music doesn't seem to fit with Brawl...

Yes, I do. I believe Greenmamba mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I'm not sure if she posted it. In any case, I'd love for it to be in Brawl, but that's just me.

As for the Pig Army theme, you could use is as maybe a background music if they put
New Pork City
in the game. No I haven't played Mother 3 but I've seen enough spoilers. Or maybe as an alternate track for Fourside or something.

New Pork City
as a stage would rock and the theme would go great with it but they should use other Mother 3 music too...

Exactly. Tal Tal Heights is a great track (from my favourite game of all time w00t), although its a dead cert something from TP will get in, somehow.

Hopefully I'll see a fully orchestrated of the Golden Sun theme in there too: http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/3634/40. Awesome stuff, but it needs an orchestra for it to work.

Hey dude, the music links don't seem to work for me. Could you link to their download page only?

For some reason it's not working again; either that or it could just be me...

I'd really like to hear some of these tunes. I come in expecting something entertaining about DK's musical instruments from DK64, but end up getting something MUCH better instead... (Even though it might not make the best SSBB music, Mad Jack FTW) except I can't really partake, as I can't listen to the music...

there's so much more music that need to be put in Brawl; with the amount of memerable music in Nintendo games, they need to include a large amount. heres what I would like (links included [use the "click here" on the page in the link])...

the ending from Revenge of Meta Knight (Kirby Super Star): this should be the credit music when Meta Knight completes 1 player mode. not only is it fitting of Meta Knight, but it's also an awsome ending theme (one of my favorites). [ http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/980/19 ]

Dark World theme from Zelda: A link to the past: this theme was, and still is, awsome! it would be the perfect music to fight to in Brawl. it should be remix into something epic, maybe mix in another song from Alttp with it. [ http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/1422/12 ]

more medleys: there's a sh*t load of games that have too much good music to pick a single song to remix. the solution? a medley! a buch of songs from one game mixed together into one big song. they alredy did it in Melee with the Super Mario Bros. 3 music, why stop there? I would like to hear A Kirby medley, more specificaly, a medley of Revenge of Meta Knight music; which would go together with the Halberd stage. Maybe a Zelda one?... yeah, a Zelda medley!

The ending for RotMK really is a good ending theme, but more so for heroic characters. Something given to Meta Knight, Kirby, maybe Link or Falcon. But you wouldn't probably see it with the likes of Ganondorf (not for bad guys,) or Jigglypuff (too weird or cute.) It should be "an" ending theme, but not "the" ending theme.

As for the dark world, there's a surprising amount of people who have suggested it. It's a good song, but I always liked the dark world version of the lost woods and Death Mountain better.

If you're wondering what I'm talking about.

sorry, but I'm not really getting what you mean by that... sorry I just don't see how Link, Falcon, Ganondorf, and Jigglypuff get included with the ending music to a Kirby game...

I dunno... I still like the regular dark work theme better... how 'bout a dark world medley?

speaking of Zelda themes, what about the dungeon from Zelda 1? that could be remixed into something turbo epic; it would be an awsome theme to fight to.

No no no. I'm saying the ending music to Revenge of the Meta Knight sounds heroic to me, and therefore might fit the image of heroic characters. This would (IMO) include Link, Falcon, Meta Knight, Kirby, and so forth.

However, it would NOT include Ganondorf (or characters like him) because he is evil, or characters like Jigglypuff since they don't have a real heroic image.

That's all. I'm just making speculated guesswork on how that song could be used in Brawl

EDIT: and a dungeon remix from Zelda 1 would be awesome.

ohhhh! now I get ya! indeed, it is a preety heroic theme; it could very easily fit in with other hero type characters, but the fact thats it's a Kirby song makes me think it would only be used with Kirby characters (both Meta Knight and Kirby, but maybe not DeDeDe)

I think it'd be awesome if the Kid Icarus level's music had a style similar to this OC Remix.

Granted, the song in question is the Underworld song, but I just like the feel of the song.

I've got a few good musical/stage ideas of my own.

Idea #1: Mario Kart GP - Waluigi Pinball

Character: Waluigi
Game: Mario Kart DS

Ever since playing Mario Kart DS, Waluigi Pinball has been one of my favorite tracks. I like this track due to its interesting innovation. Knowing this, Waluigi Pinball would be perfect for Brawl.

Of course, this stage wouldn't play like a typical racetrack stage (like Mute City or the new Mario Circuit stage). It would be a normal, "static stage," and the stage would consist of platforms on the vertically-aligned pinball table. There would be bumpers strategically placed around the platforms (not standard SSB Bumpers, but really big Bumpers), and at the bottom, near the abyss, would be two flippers. The flippers would cause damage if a player collides with them, but they also have the opportunity to knock said player upwards, giving them a second chance.

http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/4900/46

Idea #2: The Great Sea - Private Resort

Character: Wind Link (Young Link's hypothetical replacement)
Game: The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker

Come on. Did you really think that something from the Wind Waker wasn't going to appear in Brawl? Oh, you poor, deluded fools...

Rather than going with a more well-known island of the great sea, I decided to go with an island that had been, for the most part, overlooked; Link's Private Resort (the one he receives from the teacher at the School of Joy). Even though Link picks up a Triforce Chart there, this island is under-visited and under-appreciated (even though it's a freaking luxury resort).

(Link's a kid who owns a mansion! How cool is that?!)

Instead of the stage taking place in the bowels of the cabana's basement, this stage consists of the outside of the island. There are few platforms other than the actual stage itself (the main one being a umbrella near a lounge chair), but the stage itself has varying heights. The abyss is represented by the water.

Finding the right music for this was a bit annoying (seeing as how the island itself doesn't have any music to go with it), so I just went with the standard Ocean overworld theme.

http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/124/31

Idea #3: Ehn'gha - Ruins of Ehn'gha

Character: Alex Roivas
Game: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

This was a bit difficult, seeing as how Eternal Darkness is a game filled with enclosed areas. Corridors, rooms, chambers; you name it, it's enclosed, and enclosed areas do not work as Smash Bros. stages. The only place I could really think of would be the city of Ehn'gha itself.

As for the actual stage, I'm having some difficulty working on a singular idea. My previous idea involved fighting on the array pillars in the center of the city, but the abyss was entirely too large to be successful. Rest assured, I'll have a functional idea soon enough.

Finding appropriate music for this stage was especially challenging, seeing as how most of the background music in Eternal Darkness consists of ambient, creepy sounds. Listening to the soundtrack, I found a particular track I liked called Black Rose, which is the music that plays in Maximillian Roivas's house during Chapter 5 of Eternal Darkness. It might not fit perfectly, but it's the best I could do, and it's better than nothing.

Oh, and Destruction_King: if you liked Bloody Tears, then might I suggest this remix? It's from Beatmania IIDX, and it's only about two minutes long, but it's pretty nice. Give it a listen.

I absolutely love the remix of Bloody Tears from IIDX DistorteD. It's good to see smashers who appreciate Bemani games as much as I do :)

Anyway, I really like a lot of your musical selections DK. Hopefully, some of those will make it into the game!

@ TrifiorceJ

I noticed how very perky and upbeat many of your choices are. I believe they'd work pretty well for a stage (as high intensity and happy music works well for many of the Nintendo characters,) but as for my personal preferance, they're just not melodic enough. They seem sort of generic to me and the last thing I want to remember in a Wind Waker Stage is traveling though the sea slooooooooowly reaching my destination. If anything comes from Windwaker, it has to be the aforementioned Dragon Roost Island. As for Mario Kart, most of the Rainbow Road stages (SNES, N64,) have pretty good music.

They're not bad choices mind you. Just ones I don't agree with.

As for the Eternal Darkness stage, it's certaintly much darker, but really seems like mood setting music (uh oh, there's possibly someone behind the corner) rather than fight music. It's just the opposite of the happy perky fight music you posted above. While I think your first two picks are legitimately good choices that I personally don't agree with, I just don't see this being in Brawl at all.

On another note, thanks for finding the bloody tears stuff.
