I'm going to keep it short. I just got a girlfriend a few days ago. I'm really shy, so she was my first girlfriend in a while. I find out from her that a lot of people are mad at her because they 'want' me. I want this to work without making her suffer, what should I do to make this work?

Well you are hella lucky if everyone wants you! Don't offend them, be cool, keep them jealous. It will make things a lot easier if you later decide to break up with your current GF.

This part seems fishy. She tells you, that "people" I'll assume friends of hers, are basically... jealous of her, because THEY wanted to be with you?

And you wanna know what YOU should do?

Easy. :D let it inflate your ego, take it for all its worth, and be secure in the knowledge that if it doesn't work, (apparently) you've got a whole tribe of salivating females ripe for the taking.

-or-

she's just boasting, or trying to say something to inflate your ego on purpose, as in ... a twisted kind of compliment?

But in either case -you- shouldn't do anything, it's her people that have the issue, not your people. And she shouldn't be introducing the idea that she may have to choose between them and you, either. That's what we call Extra Drama, or what my friend dubbed, the Unnecessary Added Challenge, which is prevalent in many a tv show, movies, and video games.

It's quite simple, just ignore it. It's their problem, not yours, not hers. Just listen if she needs to talk/vent about it. You can't please everyone all the time, the only one that matters is your gf.

If it's too much for her to handle and she breaks up with you over it (doubtful), then hey, apparently you have options ;)

She's not pulling names out of her rear-end, I know who they are, or at least, some of them. I've talked to her about it and we've basically come to the consensus that we care about each other and if anyone has issues, they can suck a pickle.
