I was playing melee and it seemed like his thunder had a little more "umph" than it does in brawl. Does anybody notice the same thing?

I havnt played brawl yet,but from the videos i have seen and pyrnight's expirience id say its as good if not betetr than what it was.Besides why would they nerf it for no reason??

Many high power attacks got reduced damage for boosted usability.

My initial impression from videos is that thunder has way less lag, and is actually a viable follow up after a launch instead of needing to be used in extremely specific circumstances and being highly punishable on failure. It looks incredibly hard to punish now, though of course it'll still need to be used semi-sparingly if you intend to reserve it's power to KO with.

Not that I've played the game, but from videos I've seen, Pikachu's Thunder has more vertical knockback and easier to kill someone from the top using Thunder. Yes, ALFET said it, much easier to Thunderspike.

Thunderspiking is really killing anyone above Pikachu. And since Thunder got buffed in speed and vertical knockback, you can kill anyone off the top quite easily if they're close to the top of the ceiling.

more height and speed:)

Sounds great huh.More speed =less time for them to evade, and being able to high them when they are higher means a sure kill. It sucked when they were to high for thunder to hit......but in stages like hyrule it was pretty cool to hit people with a cloud that did 30% damage

Pika?
non DI-ed D-Smash to thunder is a very useful combo on all the characters i have played against (marth, bowser, falco, kirby, MK) and the absence of too much lag if the thunder actually hits pikachu leaves you less open to attacks than it used to. Beware though, for shine can reflect thunder and hit you, i died because of that on my last stock in a round-robin tournament against falco...

The top blastlines are *really* small compared to the other SSB games, so you could say it does better for thunderflipping (upsmash) and Dsmash-thunder (need to come up with a name for that). Corneria is probably still one of the best stages for pika.

I really hope it is faster now, because it was hard to dodge the whole attack in melee you'd still get hit by the weak aftershsock. Hopefully this attack isn't whored like alot of noobs just love so do.

I think Pikachu's Thunder got a bit of a boost.
While it didn't increase in attack, its after shock is great.
I don't like the lag time of Thunder, however.

His thunder got a huge Buff it has next to 0 lag time i'm not sure baut when i was playing i think the sparks around him stayed 4 a split sec after the attack was over and he could move around. and it now hits from the top of the screen instead of the ****y cloud.
