Dead Optical Drive. What's the easiest way I can play?

Hey guys. I was really excited to start playing PM since getting into Melee after EVO. Got a Wii, got a 2gb SD card with the PM file on it, and a brawl disc. The Wii is my buddies who was having issues with the ODD before he got his Wii U, but since getting the Wii U it's been stowed away.

It's not reading my Brawl disc or my Melee disc. Melee disc works fine on the gamecube. I am open to modding the Wii as long as I can play PM. Are there any guides I can follow to get this done? What are your suggestions?

Find a decent 8GB or higher USB drive and set up a USB Loader. I'm not sure if posting a link to a tutorial would be against the rules though. But if you Google "Wii hacking tutorial for beginners" there should be a really good tutorial on GBAtemp.
