day two at apex!!!!!!!!!!!

--and the Olimars did poorly.

So, with my one and possibly last(?) return(..?) to the game after playing it maybe once a month, I came to this place, bypassing a Mother's Day Diner.
It was worth it, in a way.

I was able to see friends for the first time in a while.
Emmy/RapidAssassin, IcyLight, .Com, P~S and also some other smashers who do not use Olimar.

I believe we all placed pretty low and we should try to get better before we are pushed behind by the possibly superior players (or characters) in this game.
Not sure about the others, but I placed only 9th, losing to people that I could generally win against when I was playing the game.

Suiciding against ADHD and just.. wow, Anti was much better than before.
I believe P~S lost to IC chaingrabbing.. No way to improve except camping more and trying to bait his shield with nair->dsmash.

However, Icylight's controller has some top tier potential. While using it, I pretty much destroyed everyone I played. When I gained my controller back from Chu. I lost.

Don't get too down on yourself, 9th ain't bad at a tournament of that size. But I do understand your disappointment, that's the standard we have to hold ourselves to. In the past 3-5 weeks I've essentially locked myself into getting 5th place at every small-mid sized tournament, and while it's cool I'm placing reasonably high, I really wanna start locking into those top 3 spots. Hard to do in So Cal. But my placings have only gradually gone up since I started playing the game, so we'll see.

i've been feeling the same way. i placed 49th at Apex, and in local small-mid sized tournies i usually place top 5. I want to be able to win those sized tournies and at least get top 5/10 in a larger scale tourney like Apex. We must work together and find everything that helps us to do better. every small thing helps and ps has helped me fight robs a ton better. i used to feel like i sucked at the matchup and now it's completely changed around, thanks again P~S :D good luck with mk, and thank you BlackWaltzX for showing me how to beat d3 and dk nearly every time ^_^

Oli mains shouldn't be too down, Black did place well, and getting past pools was tough enough. I'm sure we'll do better later, like I'm going to HERB2 in July, so I'll do my best there. But you guys did a good job at Apex :D Don't be too down about it, lots of good people went. Again, don't be down, placing at a tourney like Apex is really hard. =(

I placed 9th with my left hand, no right hand fingers except for a crippled, slow reaction right hand.
I'm sure the others could have done better and before the tourney I told P~S that I was hoping he would play for Olimar's sake as I was doing awful.
Which I was.

How about a gathering of beastly Olimar players under one roof to play massive amount of friendlies? I think that would really help players, cause everyone has a different style to play, the only example I have though is that Dabuz camps, but Andy....runs at you and beats you up.
