How would you guys feel if David Wise was in charge of most of the remixes and whatnot for Smash 4? For those of you who do not know, David Wise makes music for the Donkey Kong games, and most notably Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, here is just one of the many great songs he made

Smash Bros 4 will likely have a barrage of composers like Brawl did. Would be cool if Wise was one of them, but since he was busy with DKCTF I'm not sure he made the cut.

Wise should definitely be in as one composer.

But main composer? I dunno...

Perhaps not he himself, but one of his Tropical Freeze tracks may have made it in....

I'm not even sure that Brawl had a main composer in that madness (most likely they did), though I know that both 64 and Melee did.

Brawl had one of the biggest teams of music composers in Video game history. I'm pretty sure Smash 4 will surpass that, so chances are Wise will be a part of the team as well.

Smash 4's soundtrack is one of the main things I'm excited for.

Brawl was one of those rare games that was worth purchasing for the soundtrack alone... Very interested in finding out if Smash 4 can top it.

If Smash 4 follows the same idea as Brawl by having a lot of composers, I could see him being among them. I mean, was there a "main composer" in Brawl at all? Sure, there were composers that did more arrangements than others, but I don't think there was one who stood out as a main composer...

I hope that Smash 4 will have a bigger soundtrack than Brawl, with even more composers involved. Including Wise.

There's a good chance Wise will be one of the game's composers, but with a game that has such a variety of styles, it's pretty hard to have a 'main' composer, I'd personally love to hear what a Metroid theme remixed by Wise would sound like, probably Brinstar - Overgrown with Vegetation.

Did David do the music for Diddy Kong Racing DS or simply get credited for the ported tunes? If it's the latter, feel free to shove him in. If it's the former, however, he has clearly fallen from his former heights and probably isn't worth having.
That's my view on the matter.

It is too late for that. But SSB4's soundtrack being remixed by David Wise would be absolutely fantastic. Love his works.

No main composer would be my vote (mainly because some of the other Nintendo composers are also geniuses, like Totaka), but I definitely hope they got him to at least remix K. Rool's theme.

I mean, it'd be ridiculous to have Wise remix everything because we obviously don't want the whole soundtrack having a similar style...I mean, just look at Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze, Keiji Yamamoto adds some magic to the game with amazing original tracks like Weighty Way, Sticky Situation, Feather Fiend and Tiki Tong, Poppin' Planks was also very good, and many other composers have different styles that'd make the soundtrack richer, Koji Kondo, Michiru Yamane, Jun Senoue, Jake Kaufman, Motoi Sakuraba, Christophe Heral, Mahito Yokota, Tomoya Ohtani, Grant Kirkhope...and I'd personally love game composer baldfalk having a part in some tracks, after his AMAZING work on Sonic Before the Sequel and After the Sequel.

Wise should do all the DK songs. He should do stickerbrush symphony in a way that it feels like fighting music but keeps it's original feeling intact.

My dong would definitely expand to feature length if there were a few contributions from David Wise. He shouldn't be the main composer though; Smash is a celebration of Nintendo variety and the soundtrack should reflect that as well.

He composed all of Tropical Freeze if you're curious about his current works. Not sure about the DKR matter.

I don't think Nintendo would ever choose a foreign music developer over domestic talent to lead the soundtrack on a game like Super Smash Bros. Despite David Wise being an extremely creative composer, his style still reflects a western demographic anyway. I don't think his vision suits the Smash Bros. series. When they commissioned Nobuo Uemastu to write the main theme for Brawl I knew that it wouldn't feel like a Smash Bros. song but I didn't expect it to be opera.

And no, David Wise didn't compose the DKR soundtrack.

I think David Wise would probably be on board for the Donkey Kong songs. Even though hearing some other game's songs in his style would be cool.

Think of all the confirmed stages…
Now think of the average total of songs in Brawl having 4-6 songs per stage (with some exceptions)…
Now think of all the series that are involved in Smash…

That would be too much work for one person. I can see David Wise provide music for this game and make some remixes. The whole soundtrack though? I can't imagine him do that. Brawl's soundtrack had hundreds of songs done by many different composers, leaving all of that to one person would be ridiculous.

His songs from Tropicl Freeze will be in this game, i mean, they haven't revealed any DK stage, and probably we'll get 2: one from DKC Returns, and other from Tropical Freeze, so don't worry my friend we'll have Stickerbrush Symphony to stimulate our ears like never before.

I think the Brawl version captured that feeling right...

Wise does have a good touch on remakes and remixes to classic songs. I certainly would like to see him add some contributions to the soundtrack. I don't think I would want him in charge of MOST of them, as I prefer a more varied group working on remixes, but if that was the case, I would be okay with it.

If I had to choose one composer to be in charge of the music, I think I would have to go for Yasunori Mitsuda.

Actually, Eveline Fisher composed DKC3's music but Wise composed the GBA port.
According to wikipedia, at least, he did work on DC3

everything is by Eveline except for Dixie Beat, Crazy Calypso, Wrinkly's Save Cave, Get Fit A-Go-Go, Wrinkly 64, Brothers Bear and Bonus Time (along with Bonus Win and Bonus Lose), which were by Dave."

The key is variety.
He doesn't fit as the main composer.
As one of them, sure. But his songs are probably in the game already.
