That's pretty cool, I guess. I'm not familiar with Snake's voice other than the Japanese one used in the first trailer, but I assume he probably would get his English speaking voice for the English speaking regions.

Snake is David Hayter. Even Kojima likes the english dub more.

Excellent! Solid Snake is not complete without David Hayter (unless you are in Japan).

This is excellent news to hear, since David Hayter's voice work for the Metal Gear Solid games is simply fantastic in my opinon. His voice just suits Solid Snake and his character perfectly, and as GenG said, Hideo Kojima seems to have a fondness for Hayter's voice work as well... surely that says something about him!

The only voice thing I can hope for now is Snake doing his famous death scream if he becomes a star when knocked out of the arena... that would just be epic.

That's uh really vital news...
The only voice I care about is whether or not CF still says "Show Me Your Moves."

Instant fail.

Yeah, this is great news, I love his voice for Snake.
Would you like me to say I don't like English voice acting in any game overall? Because I most certainly can. One reason is because they barely give any SOUL in their acting.

I don't really like his english voice that much...
He didn't just say that......TELL ME HE JUST DIDN'T SAY THAT!

I guess.....everyone's entitled to there own opinion but still bro, it's not possible to hate Snake's English voice actor. He's the best thing since sliced bread, the first Nintendo Entertainment System, and Falcon's Knee.

Then you'd obviously be a weaboo.
I don't wish to be Japanese, I just appreciate their culture more than the corrupting western culture I live in. And other reasons I prefer not to get into.
When foreign exchange students use to come to class when I was in highschool, I was one of the few not trying to annoyingly impress them. I spoke to them in japanese but not much cause I hate talking to people I don't know to begin with.

That's still really cool how they got all of the voice actors fro the games to do their voices. From the codec trailers, it sounds like Otacon and Mei Ling are all the same people.

Concoct a better reason that that...

Cause now I am questioning if you have any clue about MGS and the character Snake is.

... That would be trying to impress them...

You speak English, why shift tongue just because they talk different? You sir, are officially a hypocrit.

Snake does speak heaps in this game, his VA is really the only important one (from what we've seen so far)
He posted that before todays update. And lets face it, there's barely any dialog outside of attack names previously, even in previously seen Brawl cutscenes.

I perfer his Japanese voice myself....

Shooow Time!

QFUT.

Hayter is brilliant, and a genius of a voice actor. No one else is as associated with that voice as Snake is, and he's totaly uncliche!

I actualy like his voice, unlike 99% of all other VG voice actors.

Abra abra cadabra. I wanna reach out and grab ya!
If I like any voice, it's the announcer's voice.
(second place goes to kirby)
Haha. Well, this is a Nintendo forum after all. Nowhere else would you find people less excited about Snake's voice and more excited for Captain Falcon's.

As for video game voice acting, Kingdom Hears 1 and 2, Tales of Symphonia, and especially Bioshock had incredible voice acting. These are all in English.

I remember someone saying they prefer Japanese voice acting to American because Americans put less depth and character or something like that into their voice. I totally agree with that. That's one of the main reasons I can't tell any female Japanese actors apart, and why every guy sounds like they have some kind of smoker's lung. Those high pitched females are just so emotional!!!

I am so happy they gave Snake his English voice for a Brawl. I hope they do similar things with other characters. They were so lazy with English voice acting in Melee.
