I'm not sure if this would be the appropriate sub-forum but, hello! I'm AirConditioner (Previously RazzleDazzle) of the Super Smash Bros. Melee and I modify stuff as a hobby. (Gamecubes, mostly)

As seen in the header picture is a controller I modified to have LEDs in it (and more). I've had a lot of people at tournaments and when practicing how I did it and it's always a fickle thing to answer.

They obviously know that I wired LEDs into it but not the process exactly that goes into it.

So, what I would like to do is host a live stream on twitch.tv/AlabamaSmashLeague where I do the entire mod including other modifications and complete a detailed process for people to watch, follow along, learn from, and be a part of.

This means, as I'm modding the controller, I'll be taking comments and questions live, and responding to them as I do it. This will hopefully be able to alleviate concerns and problems the average person has about doing this to their controller along with offering a new way to explain the process.

If you would like to follow along on twitch.tv/AlabamaSmashLeague, here is a list of tools and parts you would need:
• Any GC controller of your choice
• Scissors
• Tri Wing Screw Driver
• Multimeter (optional if you're on a budget)
• Flux (also semi-optional)
• Dremel Tool with a cutting wheel or a similar cutting style cutter (optional)
• Hot Glue Gun w/ glue
• Soldering Iron
• Rosin Core Solder
• A clear shell for a Gamecube controller (preferably the back half)
• 15-25 gauge wire
• Wire stripper (or your teeth)
• 5 (EXTREMELY PREFERRED 3.3V) LEDs of your choice color
* ^ I would recommend extra LEDs if it’s your first time ^ *
• 60, 120, 220, 400, 1000, and 2000 Grit Sand Paper
• If you have one to spare, one of the crappy 3rd party controllers typically on eBay for <$10

That's about it. Sorry it's a lot of words. Feel more than welcome to message me questions about anything relating to this project or modding in general.

See you then!

So while working on a commission for someone else's GameCube, my last good soldering iron tip finally gave out. I'm really sorry guys but I'm going to have to wait until my new iron tips arrive in the mail.
