Do the screen and the sensor bar remind anyone else of Game and Watch Kirby?

Also, if you're gonna be chucking bombs throw in some more arrow cancels with them. Forcing Mario to start relying on his cape will allow you to actually throw in some mindgaming. Make your projectile game much more annoying.
