Hey guys, how's it going. I'm a singles Lucario user and I'm planning on using Marth for doubles.

Unfortunately I've found that when I try to use the Dancing Blade I can't seem to pull out the last bit of it when I try down or up. I can get the last bit to go off when I'm holding the control stick to the side, but otherwise I just don't know.

Any advice maybe?

My dancing blades are always on a ryhtm, What you want to do is not let go on the control stick while doing the move then roll the control stick to the up or down depending on what you want to do, eventually you'll get the hang of it.

also quick questions and answers thread, as almost everyone will probably yell at you here for not posting that there.

The Dancing blade pattern is easy once you get the hang of it. Don't just mash the B button the whole time, it's easier to press the B button and a direction in accordance with the comboing ability of Dancing Blade.

Like everyone said it's a Rhythm You get into it and keep the control stick going the direction you want the blade to go

No, and unfortunately Lucario's splash damage kills my teammate a lot. Pretty bad for doubles to be honest, haha.

Honestly, I've been playing Marth so long that I thought, you just mash the B button really fast and it works. That's what I do and occasionally I hit down or up (infact, I use the downward dancing blade the most). So I would say, just mash it really fast.

To contradict myself, you can actually hit it at fairly different speeds and it will still work. I think it goes from full speed to a quarter of full speed. Just make sure you hold the forward button instead of rehitting forward every time you hit B and you should be able to do it. I can't see why you would be having problems with this, it's fairly easy to do.

Mashing B for dancing blade does NOT work. Unless you mash really slow then the dancing blade will only have the first 2 hits and will screw you up for punishment. It takes some practice to get the timing of each hit but that's about all. Practice and your thumb will eventually get the timing through muscle memory or whatever and it will become easier. Also note that during wi-fi, with all the button lag it will probably screw up your timing.

TL;DR: If you hit b too fast continuously, then you won't get past the second hit. If you hit b too slow then it won't be a combo. If you get the timing for each hit down, then you will land all hits at 0->X percentage.

Ok, if I'm wrong I apologize. When I do it it just honestly feels like I'm mashing the B button as fast as possible.

I had that problem when I got my new GameCube controller. Typically you must note that the Dancing Blade is side-B. However you will have to shift from the sides so in moving the control stick up or down, you might then do a counter or dolphin skash. So whilst keeping it at side-B, slowly tilt it up or down, rotate it and so if you want to do from down-B to green to green and end with blue, you press side-B, tilt the control stick down then rotate it anti-clockwise upwards for the finisher. Also I think rhythm might be a factor so press B with the rhythm of the dancing blade
