Well this has been long know since melee. Since brawl came out a lot of people have tried this but they think its just a random condition or requires specific damage. Well let me proudly tell the that after spending a few hours of training i finally came to the conclusion that with proper spacing and timing you can "Dance Spike" the entire roster regardless of damage percent. Firstly before trying this you must know the main structure of the Dancing Blade, which is composed of 4 hits that can be interchangeable starting from the 2 hit to Up and Down on the control stick for different combos and set ups:

The Setter(First Hit of the DB)(Not Interchangeable): It consists on the firs hit of the Dancing Blade, the color of the sword turns red. This slash is the one that makes the Set Up for the next hits of the Dancing Blade.

*If done very close to the enemy it pushes them back, and if done at a normal match distance it leaves them in the same place. This is being tested for further techniques and combos.

The Juggler(Second Hit of the DB)(Interchangeable to Up only. Not interchangeable to Down): It consists on the second of the Dancing Blade, the color of the sword keeps being red if not interchanged, and if interchanged to Up the sword changes to blue. This hit prevents the enemy from escaping, shielding, dodging or rolling. It keeps the enemy trapped within the Dancing Blade combo.

*The Positioner(Third Hit of the DB)(Interchangeable to all directions): It consists on the third hit of the Dancing Blade the color of the sword keeps being red if not interchanged, if interchanged to Up turns blue, and if interchanged to Down turns green. An important note to know is that the 3 directions of this phase of the Dancing Blade may be escaped do to Marth's delay while he is changing his stance to charge in for the blow. This hit puts the enemy into position to where Marth can reach them with the Final Blow.

** The Spiker**: This is the hit that spikes, if you change the direction of the third hit to down(Your Sword must change to green). Another peculiar fact about this hit its that if you are doing it correctly your enemy should trip or they must present the animation when Marth spikes them (if at high percent, the enemy hits the floor. Note too that when you spike with Marth you see a "U" below Marth's sword tip. This is the mark of a sweet spotted attack. Well if you are doing it correctly you should see a smaller "U" below the enemy instead of Marth's sword.(I will give the instructions after this explanations of the Dancing Blade and i will put some photos as soon as i get some good ones)

The Finisher(Fourth and Final hit of the DB)(Interchangeable to all directions): It consists on the finishing blow of the Dancing Blade. The sword keeps its red color if it isn't interchanged. If interchanged Up it should be blue and if interchanged Down it should be green. This hit is the Final Blow and makes sure the enemy respects Marth's personal space xD. This attack is escapable.

How to Dance Spike:
-It seems that if you are spaced at a gap of approximately one index finger(You can put your finger in the TV just like i did and position Marth at that distance between the length of your finger and the enemy), Marth stabs the enemy's feet and spike him. The animation looks like if the enemy has tripped but is the effect of a spike. It looks like this cause its like footstool spiking and enemy standing on the floor. They will hit the floor without the spiking animation, but they will just smack the floor just like if they were spiked off from the air. I will now put the tests i made below so you guys can try them out:

The Timing Test: Firstly you may want to see why the spike happens and how the spacing affects the Dancing Blade hits. First go to training and choose Kirby as the CPU. Now choose Final Destination. Now First just practice on only doing the first hit of the Dancing Blade. After you done that press start and put 999% on the damage meter for the CPU. Now go and only do the first hit of the Dancing Blade. Kirby should be hit upwards. Now get close to him until you are touching Kirby and when i mean touching i mean touching Kirby. Now do the first hit of the Dancing Blade. This time if you were very close to Kirby like touching him, he should be hit Sideways. This is the motion the third hit gets when you use **The Spiker**.

The Dancing Spike Test: This time put Link as the CPU and leave the Damage Meter normal. Just leave him at Zero. Now measure that Marth and Link are separated at a distance of your Index Finger. Now do the Dancing Blade to the first hit and make sure the Third hit is Down. This is how i did it. Dancing Blade and the second hit make it Up then the third hit as usual should come Down. If done correctly, Link should have the Spike Animation. He should look like falling of the air but he keeps floating in the floor for a while, just like when you spike someone at a very low percent. After you get the timing, Throw Link of the edge and try the same combo until he gets spiked down. Note that the "Dancing Spike" does not have the same knockback as a normal spike, but regardless of this, the Dancing spike does not have the Delay the normal spike has thus spikes the enemy immediately which gives them little time to react until they are out of reach to recover. I tried this on Metaknight too xD. So you can try it on other characters and tell me how it goes.

Hi Neon X, I know you a new and trying hard to help out around here, BUT
It is obvious your experience and knowledge is not as diverse as others around here. This type of information is not exactly correct nor... professional (talking about spacing techniques through the use of your finger on a TV?). I implore you to learn more about the game. There are better posts out there describing the usages of Dancing Blade already. In particular the spike is very weak and actually does not have a high tripping rate at all.

If you wish to post something akin to a guide in the near future, please have a well respected/knowledgeable person on the Marth boards check it out and critique it first.

I will lock this for now, but if you have anything helpful and new to add message me with what you want to change.
