Dair canceling?

I've mained Diddy for a long time, and I've noticed that sometimes his Dair cancels out to a Dsmash. I've done it a couple of times. Has anyone else noticed this?

What do you mean? At the start of the dair (before the hitbox appears) it will get autocancelled...

I think this, and then hitting down a again is what triggered his dair cancelled dsmash.

this happened to me before too, its like when your coming down from a jump and if you dair at the right time (don't know for sure, didn't look into it) and keep mashing c-stick down instead of lag you'll get a down smash

Do you mean where you DAir right before you land, and then DSmash? I'm confused.
