DACUS

I'm not sure is a thread of this is made, or even if it's necessary, but does Link have a DACUS?

Not yet, the only way to do a DACUS now is Dash -> A -> up+A

Trying that with Link does not yield anything but an upsmash.

You'll probably be able to do it more easily on the Wii U version / using the GC controller(like Brawl).

I'm not aware if Link has a DACUS in Smash 4. I'm curious though. Due to his new Dash Attack I'm not sure if he'll be able to perform it. If he can it's going to be a potent tactic.

I tested it in training a couple days ago, and I believe Link just stalls and does his upsmash. No slide or anything. Might aswell do Dash>Upsmash minus the dash attack since that covers a decent amount of distance.

^ Not to come off as rude or anything, but how would you test if Link could DACUS without the use of a c-stick/with the crappy 3DS controls? Why hasn't anyone shown a video of every char's DACUS?

I'm 99.99% sure Sakurai and his gang didn't care/most likely did not even know the existence of DACUS to the point that it will end up being in this iteration of Smash again. I'll even put money on the line to say that Link's DACUS will be back because other characters still have it such as Sheik, Ganon, DK, Jiggs, Robin etc. as you can see in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysz7NGD2zlE

I'll put down $5 dollhairs that you'll still be able to DACUS with Link when Wii U version releases. The 3DS' controls are not up to par in order to easily do the DACUS consistently IMO.

According to that thread, Link doesn't have a DACUS then. COnsidering that some people have modded their 3DS to use the GCC with it, we could be fairly certain that we do not have a DACUS, right?

But I'm still holding out hope that we'll still have one. The timing is probably(hopefully) super precise.

Hopefully it's just a timing thing, DACUS would be a great help for Link in the long run.

High hopes, low expectations for me. His dash attack is completely different this time around, so I imagine Link's DACUS will differ, as well (if not be completely gone).

I went into training mode and tried to perform a DACUS at 1/4 speed, and no, no DACUS. When I did it, Link begins to perform the dash attack, then it gets canceled and he goes intot he Usmash, so that is a DACUS alright, but he doesn't slide at all. He stops dead on his tracks and does the Usmash.

It is weird though, that we have bombslides but no DACUS. We'll have to see when the Wii U comes out.
