How do you make the custom loading screens and warning screens? I also saw someone change the Smash in multiplayer to Clash. I would like to do stuff like this to my brawl also. What is the extent of things you can change and is there a tutorial? I didn't know what to search for on this forum. Thanks Guys

Follow just about any texture hacking guide, but instead of taking out 'FitXXX.pac', take other files out. The strap file is StrapEn.pac in the menue partition. If you don't have an iso for brawl, someone around here might be able to provide you with just the strapEn.pac. Run it through ASH and it'll give you the files in it.

i redump my disk ..almost 3hrs, pull the StrapEnpac out again(wiiscrb1.21) its the same as beefore ...

wow, you really did about 5 hours of unnecessary work. it isnt an iso problem, it is an edited texture problem. you need to index the texture (in photoshop i believe it is "Image>Mode>Indexed" and then select Local(Perceptual) and then choose 16 colors or lower)
that about sums it up. i dont know how to use gimp or paint.net so you are on your own with those
if you would, could you send me your textures and the pac (in a PM) so i can have a look at them?

wierd how even though i never edited the Strap loader screen at all, only xtracted it and it fails to repack.

but im geuss i dont need to understand the basics if i can follow direction.

thanx for that direction.

yes , i can send them to you ...but 1st i will attempt the creation your way. and then make the 1 i would like to have and send it to you if it worx , if not i will send you just the xtraction so you can seee.

very supportive thank you.

i also missed this if its relavent:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Image that end in +1 or +2
Before saving you must give a palette to the image.
Go to Image > Mode > Indexed Color.
Be sure to uncheck the 'Transparency' box.
You can usually use 256 colors, but some images need a smaller palette (you will know it when you go to the next step).
In the 'Palette' box select: Local (Perceptual) and type a small number

i forgot to mention the part in red because it is always unchecked for me when i get there. but yes it IS relevant. And do you mean it won't repack in ASH or in WiiScrubber? if in ASH, it is an indexing problem. if in wiiscrubber, then you are kinda screwed

yes i mean in ash

ASHv2.3 extracts the original StrapEn.pac contents
( i dont even look at the contents just try to repack with create.bat and it errror's )
then it will not create new.pac from the original ( unchanged, not even looked at ) StrapEn.pac

so i was thinking i have a bad copy of ash but i tried a few versions. same fate.

thanx for your help

I'm curious, what would you name the texture file for the "Four ways to play" and where would you put it?
Have the file named StrapEn.pac and here is an example of the directory it should be in.

E:\private\wii\app\RSBE\pf\menu\strap

is there a special ash to use, or a fancy add on, for xtracting/creating StrapEn.pac ??

your problem is still the indexing. even though you did not change the palette textures (they end in +1 or +2), they cannot be repacked into the pac as is. you said you had photoshop right?
when editing a texture that has a +1 or +2, go to "Image" at the top of the screen, then select "Mode>Index" and follow the steps included with ASH that you mentioned earlier.
i know for a fact that ASH 2.3 will work with this (because that's what i used for my private customized loading screen)

am i making sense?

yes you are correct... im just not familiar with this artwork stuff at all.

failed for a few days now...
... i got the original strap to xtract and create back to original
with your great advice....
but cannot create with ash when i use my own pictures , it ignores my pics...
...i sent you a PM with my copied and pasted pics , so you can see where i fail.
i did use the setting required here to change the pictures to previously said setting but it failed to create
so i sent you the actual pictures with out the photoshop fixing.

thanx
