Custom stages in tourneys?

I've made a few "battlefield-like" stages that would probably be neutral if they were real. But would stages like these be legal in standard tourneys if the goers in general agreed to them?

Well, you can always do whatever you want in your own tourney. I don't think it will catch on in general, because it requires everyone to make the stage before a tourney. Not to mention there are already enough stages as is. We already have FD and Battlefield and Smashville for our flat stages, plus Yoshi's Island and (depending on where you live) Pokemon Stadium or Lylat cruise to round out neutrals. It's not so much that custom stages aren't viable, it's just that it's a lot of trouble when there's really no need.
