FYI to all those to who are going to run customs. When someone wants a blind pick round 1, you'll want to have the players pick before any sort of custom uploading via 3ds or wii u moveset editing is done. If my opponent calls a blindpick after I watched him setup fox and Lucina with customs, it's not hard to figure who he's going to go and i can adjust accordingly. Or, they could also just be doing the ultimate troll, and go stock zss or something that that. There's too many ways it can go wrong and give one side an unfair advantage.

A good point. But with regards to that, what do you think of blind picks with regards to the customs themselves?

Really bad idea. In fighting games, knowing is half the battle. If your opponent can hide a significant part of their character like that, they get a huge advantage - one that doesn't really improve anything. Not for fighting games. It's just not a part of the genre, and it's not something that makes sense in Smash.

That would be amazingly scary if both players didn't know the opponents customs, that would make battles a lot more interesting cause you have to adapt to your opponent on the spot, and it would also be more skillful to beat someone without knowing what customs they chose beforehand and vice versa. Idk if this will ever happen but i think it would be fun from a player and spectator perspective

I agree, I was just wondering what the OP's opinion is on the matter.
