1st of all... lol @ the SSB64 vid.

Now... Onto your Falco.

You're very obviously new to SSBM and Falco, so the most important thing for you to do is practice.

The thing that stuck out most (IMO) in your vids was the fact that you never attacked out of a short hop. You used SHL a lot (though obviously not very well...) and you used d-airs and shines fairly often, but your attacks were so scripted and predictable.

By the beginning of your 2nd stock I had your playstyle pegged. SHL, SHL, full jump into an aerial of some sort.

To harp on your SHL a little bit... You're not fast falling your lasers. This is bad. It slows you down, and makes your laser spam very useless against shorter characters. Again, you're new to this, so just keep practicing.

Your use of shines was interesting... You used it to set up some combos, but you used it other times to completely kill other combos.

To elaborate... A couple of times you jumped up to shine a falling opponent. All you achieved by doing this, though, was a few percentage points of damage. Your opponent was popped up, but he was able to recover long before you were able to continue your combo.

Top Falcos use d-air on airborne opponents for a reason. It sends their opponents back to the stage right beneath them, allowing them to fast fall into a continuation of their combo. Watch some vids and work on the shine combos that you'll no doubt see an abundance of.

Your general tech skill could use some work as well. Don't worry too much about that right now, though. Focus on getting the basics down before moving to the more advanced techs.

Edit:

Just watched it again... You are infact fast falling most of your lasers, which is good... Your timing isn't consistent, though, which is what threw me off in the first place.

Also, your general move selection isn't the best. U-Smash, for example, isn't a move that Falco can fall back on like Fox can. You'll develop a better feel for what's good and what isn't as you practice, but do try to be more wary of what works and what doesn't. Watch vids, watch vids, watch vids... It's a free resource and you can gain so much from watching just one or two of them.

That was really good for having played melee for such short time and taking on CK. Good job, i'm sure you know what you need to work on so i won't go into too much detail besides working on your SHL and shine combos (and waveshining + short hop dair, i noticed you full jumped like all your dairs which isn't good if they DI well like Cunning.)

But a bit off topic, HOLY CRAP your GH2 vids are awesome. you ***** Six lol. that song, misirlou, and jordan are the only ones i can't 5 star on expert :(

I noticed that (most likely because there isn't this option in ssb64) that you never spot dodged. This can allow you to avoid being grabbed, or aerialed if you see it coming. You can follow it up with a shine to start a combo.

Rough around the edges, but your single frame shines make for a good and fast Falco. Good stuff.
