CSUN Smash Club

Hey guys,

I was planning to petition to get an official, university-recognized Smash club at CSUN for next semester. Being an official club grants us access to CSUN facilities as well as access to the USU twice a week for 2 hours.

But before I go through the hassle, I just want to know if there's any interest in such a thing. The minimum membership needed is 5, but I know there's a lot more smashers at CSUN than that. So if I can get at least 6 people I'll go ahead and petition for the club.

You really should just go ahead and do it, and tell us all what you need from us. There are so many smashers at that school.

Ok, well since there's clearly people interested in this I've started filling out the paperwork.

Part of what I will need is 4 club officers (VP, Secretary, Treasurer, other officer) as well as 5 students willing to sign the petition supporting this club. As a club officer you don't actually have to do anything, but those positions need to be filled to get the club approved. Luckily, jopez4u's CSUN tournament is coming up soon, so I will have the petition there for any CSUN students who would like to sign it.

Well it's somewhat of an arduous process, but what it amounts to is filling out the paper work, then submitting it to 3 different committees for review before we can get approved.

If everything were to go perfectly, the soonest we could be an official club is February 9th.

As it stands, we don't have a faculty member willing to sponsor the club, so we're not able to get approved. Sorry
