Sheesh, for a wifi game your moves were surprisingly fluid.

All I can say is try cooking your grenades and stay on the ground against anyone. Aside from Bair, Snake's air moves are meant to KO and are hardly safe. Cooking grenades also prevents your boy Scat-Man from throwing the grenades away or back. Also Nice spike on the first vid, I almost sprayed soda seeing that.

Thanks. Oh and I did try cooking 'nades I wasn't able to because of the barrage of eggs. They are really good against 'nades. They explode them on contact and they stun you just long enough for the 'nade to go off in your hand or near you.

Yup you've got a pretty decent Snake imo. Only thing I would suggest besides what JH said is maybe shield-grab a bit more. I saw sometimes you were getting hit by that ridiculous Yoshi-egg rolling thing =p. Sheild-grabbing more often eliminates that, and presents and overall safer approach than just rolling/spot dodging. But other than that, good Snake. And yea great spike. Wasn't expecting that lol

Thanks. I don't grab much (probably should more often) so I sometimes forget about shield-grabbing lol. I'll try too work it into my game for sure though.

Yeah pretty good snake but as people said before grabbing is also a big part of snakes game and shield grabbing is a great defensive technique.

Also you seem to be stuck to the ground for the most part with yoshi jumping all around you, maybe you should try short hop/full hop b-air , SH D-air and FH N-air as the are great attacks and N-air does great damage and is good for edge gaurding. Firing charged and non charged mortors is also a good edge gaurding technique.

Thanks for that. I tend to neglect Snake's air moves with the exception of bair and uair. I'm still trying to do a FH nair but I can't seem to land it in battle. Oh well just something to work on. Thanks again.

Well you probably won't be able to approach head on with a full hopped nair, rather, try it when they don't expect it (for example DI forward and the last kick may possibly hit them when they're not expecting it to reach that for).

About your Snake though...it's pretty good , if a bit on the slow side, no offenese hopefully. What I mean is, I think you should work on pressing your advantage. One instance would be your edgeguarding, which is a bit on the passive side (except for the awesome fair gimp haha). Once you've got them vulnerable, keep them that way. Try out Nikita edgeguarding in your future games, it's both safe and effective, and it's an aggressive method to edgeguard someone who you knocked far offstage.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't seem like you've got the non-contact mortar slide refined yet. Of course it's personal preference if you want to learn it, but it can help you press your advantage as well. For example, you've knocked Yoshi offstage with whatever, but a Nikita won't catch him fast enough since he's a little high up. You've got space between you and the ledge to cover, almost half of FD. A non-contact mortar slide would allow you to cover that ground rather quickly, and immediately follow up with aggressive mortar edgeguarding that could catch him at that height or as he falls. So essentially, increasing your speed to allow you to follow up quicker and keep up the pressure.

You know how to rack up damage rather well, but learning to press your advantage is what's going to aid in scoring you kills quicker.

One last thing, the sh lag-cancelled dair to broken-ranged up tilt at 3:00 was very cool. :chuckle:

Thanks Rusty. Now that you point it out I do notice that my edgeguarding could be more aggressive. I tend to use mortar-sliding for attacking and not for movement so I guess it could help if I started using it to cover ground. The utilt at 3:00 I have to thank your guide for. I didn't think it had such fantastic range so thanks for that. Thanks for the advice. =]

you have a good snake and how are you playing so well online? when i go on there i always play like crap. also can you give me some tips on the non contact mortor slide.

well anyway i think that you should grab more, maybe us bair a little bit more, also you could try cooking your nades a bit longer( i have to work on that too) lastly i loved that heel spile at 1:21.

if by "playing good online" means no lag than I guess I've got a good connection. Otherwise i try to play my best so I don't look like a fool if it turns out the match is being recorded and because I don't want to give people a bad impression of Snake.

Non-contact mortar sliding is best accomplished with the c-stick down to up-z method. Look at abit_rusty's "Snake survival guide" for more info on that. Thanks for the advice as well.
