Critique My R.O.B. Play

Hey all, I'm an Idaho R.O.B. player and wanted to get some feedback on how to improve my play.

Firstly, here's a set I played in Grand Finals vs. J$, the best DK and overall #2 player in my region. Ignoring my weak falco I lose the set 3-2.

Next I have 3 sets from a tournament in Utah I attended this summer. I played SK92 in Winners Finals and Grand Finals, a name most of you are probably familiar with and also Perfect Chaos who I believe to be Utah's top player (Sheik Main). Keep in mind that these sets are from 3.5 although that shouldn't make a big difference as far as my mistakes go.

I already had a few things in mind for improving such as fixing my poor approaches and getting a stronger, more consistent punish game, but I'd love to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks!

A big one I see in GFs against J$ is that you're going for offstage dairs a lot, when you could have guaranteed a fair string to take the stock. Also I would say to chase your opponent offstage more instead of trying to hit the gyro, especially against DK. Overall solid ROB with great movement that makes me jealous.

But this is just what I saw, the more experienced players here can probably nitpick more.

Yeah I think that you're right about my offstage dairs. I didn't really get anything out of them.

watched the first two games against that dk. your rob is solid, the biggest thing i notice is that you need to work on movement. and don't be afraid to dash dance and boost with top in hand, i saw you just shielding a lot and waiting to gt. a good way to edgeguard horizontal recoveries like dk's is to just fall off stage and do a rising up air. also you should work on your ledge game, looked like you fair'd from ledge every time. def get waveland from ledge down and i personally like to boost onto the stage from ledge with invincibility in certain situations.

Thanks for replying Sneez! I enjoy watching you play in socal!

Since that set I've learned to ledgedash with ROB (only God knows why I put it off for so long) and I really like it into a shield grab or down-smash. Also, for some reason I never considered drop zone up-air. I'll make sure to try it out, thanks. You are right about my gyro uses too. I only really use GT or AGT with it when I could just move around with it to put on a lot more pressure.

Lastly, if you or anyone else cares to watch, here is a recent set against the same DK player in Winner's Finals. He definitely made some adjustments and I got totally wrecked.

Any further advice appreciated!
