For laser, learn to wd oos fluidly. Try to stay spaced so that falco can't quite get to you with one short hop. If you can, try to learn to powershield well. Also, use platforms more. I saw you using them a little, but you stayed mostly on the ground. Learning to fully abuse platforms is extremely useful in getting past lasers.

Other than, your edgeguarding could use a little work, but you're pretty solid.

I watched the game on FD
you're a really good fox. very mindgamey, very technical, and very well executed (with the exception of thunders)
you're like me. You hit the jab, then **** up the uair (or in my case JC grab) haha
NICE gimp on falco's second stock.
when you started a CG on one of his stocks you should just uthrow->usmash imo at 0%, it's easier to follow up and you missed your CG because of this
other than that, very well played (again, only watched the game at FD)

You need to work on your recovery game. Learn to make better/smarter recovery choices. For example, you used your Up B way too early on the fight on DL, which got you in hot water. So next time, fall a little lower first then use your FireFox. Also, you have to get into the habit of sweetspotting your Up B. That's what got you killed a little too quickly at times.

Everything seemed pretty solid. Its mainly your edge game.

As for your question about the lasers...just stay as close to Falco as you can. Power shielding his lasers is one option. Wavedashing out of your shield is another option. Um, your full hop aerial approach was another good strat you was applying. But in a nutshell, you have to close the gap between you and Falco.

Good question about the ledge hop double laser. If you know full well it coming, then I would full jump and come down with a aerial. Or you can simply shield. I don't encounter that move much.

Keep up the good work dude.

Every time I see a shine usmash I smile. You need to be more aggressive. You run to the ledge and it looks like you're camping for gimps alot. Needs more overall movement and nair, dair, grab pressure. Try to run in a shield and use WD out of your shield to move forward and progress into your opponents space and pressure them. If you continue running directly to the edge and insist on fighting near it, sooner or later you are going to get cornered because of it. (match 1)

When he ledge lasers jump really high and land on him with bair. If either the weak or strong hit connects he has no double jump and its an easy shine spike. You can also run back a bit and do a full hop nair and land on top of him (going over his high laser in the process). A trick I use alot is: Take the first laser, then shine before the second hits. It works sometimes and catches your opponent off guard. If you notice they aren't doing the SHDL from the edge as soon as they grab it, remember they have no invincibility on it. That being said, you can easily fsmash, jab, or dash attack straight through it. I think even if they do the ledge laser as fast as possible, they'll only be invincible for the start-up of the first laser..then from there its fair game. The problem with that is after the first laser fires it covers the space in front of/below them making punishing impossible. This is how I came up with the idea of coming at them from the air.

The thing that hurt you the most is the failed edge-guards. You got him off the stage WAY too many times. Its okay if you don't kill him everytime, but at least get a grab or usmash on him when he comes back and deal major damage. Alot of the time you'd just assume instead of react and blatently miss predictable guards. Don't run off and dj nair back onto the stage unless you see him double jump back and you TIME IT RIGHT. Almost everytime, you could have just stood there and been patient - then dsmashed. Or you could have turned around and grabbed the edge, then baired. EVERYTIME I TELL YOU. lol You don't grab the edge much to edge-guard, and that took away alot of kills that were simply handed to you.

Watch the video again, and notice how whenever you knock him off CREA double jumps backwards and sweetspots with illusions alot. As soon as he double jumps backwards and aligns himself, he makes what he plans on doing insanely obvious. Because he is so far away, its easy to react and cover his now limited options. Seriously, grabbing the edge and bairing, or just holding it, would have worked wonders. IMO the best way to edge-guard as Fox is to just stand there with your back turned. If you see him align himself dsmash or FF edge-hog. If you see him go high simply bair. If you see him firebird, grab the edge and bair him. If he illusions straight at you utilt and bair. Keeping your back turned towards the edge is so broken. lol

But I digress.

I'm pretty sure you know all this already, but just didn't do it in tourny play for whatever reason. Nerves maybe? In any case, good luck and post more vids. Work on that edge-guarding! Don't guess, don't assume. THINK AND REACT.

Haha, I was thinking about you when I did that shine -> usmash.

(no homo? yes homo? You decide ^__~)

My only new advice is to practice ledge techs. There were a few times when you could have ledge teched or tech jumped and lived.
I am pretty proficient at SDI into ledgetechs. Most of the dairs he did on me were at too low of a percent to tech, and one of the d-smashes he got on me, he waited until I was above the stage so I couldn't tech. I actually called him an ******* for it LOL.

p.s.

Yeah, I suck at l-cancelling fullhopped dairs.

From watching the second game only:

First thing that comes to mind is back air. Its really awesome as an edge gaurding tool, and I really think you would get alot out of using it. Especially because it seems like falco can get away with not sweet spotting. Get falco off stage -> bair the hell out of him as he trys to recover -> win games.

Use utilt alot more aswell, and grab more. Once you do all of that, pressure the hell out of him because you can get away with it.
:)

Good luck to you.

Ummm, in the Dreamland match, I noticed that I kinda got trapped a lot between his u-tilt and the edge. What could I have done to safely get out of this? D-tilt? Get on the platform and shield?

I feel as though just jumping over him would have resulted in eating b-air.

Run close and shield, then shield grab. Or mindgame him and run straight past him to the other side of the stage. lol I do that all the time. Alternatively, you could simply roll behind him. Or WD off the stage from invincibility then hop back on and dair/nair.

What the hell are you talking about?

I chose Fox in both of these matches, and when I DIDN'T use Fox, I used Falco, and I like, 3 stocked him.
