Just found out about brawl+ today and am eager to test it out, but have a few questions about hacking my wii first. I am a noob to smash, but always wanted to play it competitively, but never owned a gamecube and found out real quick the brawl is nothing like melee. well anyways heres my questions.

1. Can having the homebrew channel on my wii get my wii banned from wifi if I somehow get caught?

2. Not that I really care, but will it void my warranty?

3. Is there any risk of messing up my wii or any functions not working anymore by using it? I heard about it possibly getting bricked or something, what does that mean?

I'm curious to hear about melee smashers(who refuse to play brawl) opinions about b+. Is it a more fun and competitive game than melee? Any gripes about it?

I think as long as there is an official setting for the mods after its released and tested this could be good for the game. The only problem I see with this is there will be a split community of vanilla brawl and brawl+ players so as long as the brawl+ players all play with the same setting, it shouldn't be to bad. Well thats all I have, I'm sorry if this topic isn't allowed.

To restate:

1. No. Nintendo has no protection on their online play.

2. No. There are a lot of people who have had their Wii fixed. All you have to do is uninstall or hide the Homebrew Channel.

3. The only way you could possibly brick your Wii would be if your Wii lost power during Homebrew Channel installation or screwing up an installation of (usually illegal) files or something.

1: DON'T use Brawl+ on WiFi, and you will be fine. Now there are bans for hacking on WiFi...
2: NO.
3: Yes if you do something illegal. Otherwise, NO! Just use Homebrew for Gecko OS and you will be fine.
