As you probably know, Capcom has recently almost gone bankrupt, and only has a few million in the bank. Sounds like a lot right? Not when you're a massive multi-national games company that needs to pump out new games every year to keep afloat. Capcom are now having to rely on DLC and low budget phone games like Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter X All Capcom (Wow, now Capcom wants to challenge itself?).
But having Mega Man in Super Smash Bros 4 could perhaps save Capcom from going bankrupt. I expect Capcom will get a hefty shared amount of dosh if Smash Bros 4 becomes a success, what with their main mascot being one of the main characters.
I do love Capcom and all their colourful franchises and characters, but they can only blame themselves for their current predicament. Until they find the budget to make Street Fighter V or Mega Man 11, one awesome company could be lost forever.
