What are the reasons that people tend to use the Nintendo Game Cube Controllers instead of Classic Wii Conts or Wii Remotes?

The main reason is because the wiimotes/classics have frames of lag when using them, as compared to a plugged in gc controller.

I would say the main reason is that they're more comfortable and familiar to us.

Lag is just a side effect.

Using the Classic Controller or Wiimote alone also disallows the use of a handful of techniques; b-sticking, for instance, can only be performed with the GCN controller or Wiimote+chuk iirc.
