Ok, many people said that SSBB can be used by using a gamecube controller. Since this is true (maybe) then will the controller buttons be the same? ex: A = wimpy attacks. X + Y = Jump.

And since I'm on the topic. How many people want the ^joystick button to not jump.

*The 1st thing is more important*

That control scheme won't work. Why? Because the D-pad isn't bad for movement, it's digital input which is a bad thing to use for movement in games at this stage, it would mean you'd have to double tap to dash which would suck.

And for the LAST ****ING TIME: THERE'S NO MONTION SENSING!

Seriously. People are crazy enough when it comes to melee, if people start flailing their arms left and right at the speed of sound then smash would be more then a competitive sport...It would be the leading cause of death

Yea. that control scheme is gay, I'm pretty sure nintendo will do something like my prefered control scheme...

with Wiimote+Nunchuck.

A - Regular Attacks
B - Special Attacks
Z - Shield/Dodge
Analog Stick - Move/Jump
DPad - Secondary Jump
+ = Pause
- = Taunt
C=Grab
A+B = Grab

That control scheme would work for me and if it's not like that I will just use the gamecube controller.

Yeah I hate when im going to attack with an u-air or an up-tilt instead of that my character jumps.
Yeah, like when you run with Ex: fox and try to flip the person you jump instead. that is the thing that gets on my nerves. and also the short hop flips. HATE THE JOYSTICK JUMP

Since y and x are jump.Have x be jump and y be another fighting techneec
Many people use the Y button to jump. Not everyone uses X.

Have any of u guys even thought about the classic controler??? It's got practically the same buttons as the GC controller exepct for a few additional features.
You will probibly have the choice of using the Wii remote+Nunchuck, Classic Controller, or maybe even the GC 1 aswell.

^^Yeah, what that guy said. I would prefer the Gamecube controller, but it wouldn't be a total loss if I wouldn't be able to use it. I'll just have to get use to the Wii controller. I have to admit it, that controller looks sleek.

LOL, hecka ppl hated that WiMote control scheme I randomly came across on the Internet! It was just to throw some possiblities out there! I would rather have the classic Wii controller or gamecube controller, but they better have a options list that allows you to change the buttons (or wat some ppl said, they should possibly add attacks). For examplem, I never push X, I sometimes push Y, and I mainly push up on the control stick. I heard somewere (this is not wat I believe, just heard it ranodomly, I disagree, other than the control layouts as an option) it could be possible they have diffrent control layouts were you can use either X or Y as extra attacks, but I highly doubt that and don't agree. I say classic, or somewat classic. (not too many ppl like wat I randomly heard on some other site, don't remember wat site it was though, lol...they were hated, but I just like to throw random things to think about)!

hey, first post lol, but yea i thought i heard somewhere that you would be able to play with the classic controller. I would actually really like this as the classic controller is quite nice. I could also be way off here and making stuff up though lol.

I have the classic controller and it would feel confortable...I'm just not quick to jump on it. I wonder how it will end out...probablly BRAWL will use GameCube controllers with a possiblity of using the Classic Controller as well. But there is little doubt they'll use GC controls, unless Nintendo unveils a new type of controller, that is!

*Uncontrolable vomiting*

How do you execute Tilts and Smashes?

I'm sorry,but I don't want every moment I attack to look like I have a severe case of rickets.

>_>

Also,JohnKnight,I believe that GC controls will still be in production,because all of the VC consol games have GC control compatability for those who do not have a classic control(Me,Lol).So it would only be fair(Or to some point,Logical)To sell the controllers.It is still a next gen system with backwards compatability,so the GCN controls are preety much for the Wii primarily.

On another note,2 Wii games can use the GCN conrtol(Even though I wouldn't count it as something official,for the games are meer ports.)

The controll scheme should stay primarily the same.

A WAY IT COULD WORK WITH THE WIIMOTE:

controll stick=controll stick
A=A
B=B
y&x=down d-pad
R&L=Z
z=c
c-stick=flick wiimote to the side, up, or down.

yes; only 1 sheild & no light shaild, b is where R was, grab is on the left, and c-smashes make you move. get used to it, or, just use that GC controller O_o. BTW, the movement thing is not hard, I played Twilight princess, and the whole move to attack thing was really easy, the tiniest flicks will do.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THERE'S NO MOTION SENSING! Sakurai confirmed it himself, so unless he goes insane there's not going to be any motion sensing in Brawl where fighting is concerned.

I hope the control scheme in SSBB will be similar to the one used in SSBM. A nice addition would be if you could customize the controls in your user profile or something (for instance, disabling jumping by using the control stick...)

Other than that, I just hope they don't make it too different.

I would like to c it use the Gamecube controller (mayb classic controller as an option, i dunno y, i like having options), or a new controller. I would like to c how it could work if they made like a extra button with extra/new attacks on it, and how it would work (not recomending it like ppl took 4 my wiimote posts and classic controller only, which i say y not use gc controller, and classic controller as a customizable option, again just cause I like choices). I just wanna no wat that would b like out of sheer curiousity; not dump the gc controller like a lot of ppl thinking i mean (which i don't, it good), just to throw that out there as well...I like being open 2 some cool & diffrent possiblities 2, more options (y not if u not it would be a diffrent experiment), just 4 curiousity! I also hope they don't make it totally change it, like going from halo2 controls on xbox & 360 to LOZ TP controls on Wii. "If it isn't broken, y fix it?" Keep GC controls, o ya! And keep all SSB Melee characters, item, and maps!

Im thinking it will be the same as Melee and for using the special on the GC controller will probably be pick up the item and smash it down on the floor or would be the control pad, and I think you will have the ability to use all three controllers!!
Also I don't want control stick up to make me jump its annoying wavedashing to do the regular up no smash

I just wanna see how it would be if it was diffrent, and maybe even if it had a option to where you could use the classic controller. Plus, they acutually need control options (Press22I think that could help you, even though I mostly use control stick up to jump).

I just want to see how it would work because I curious. Who isn't about how it would work? Plus, as I've stated I love tons of options (more special melee stuff, make a stamina life mode, etc), just so if I don't want to do option A, B, C, D, E, F, or G, H, or I can always go with J!

More options, modes, less cheap grabs or counter-grabs for every character, crawling for every character, and wall jumping for every character. Plus keeping all original courses, characters, items, options, and modes; pretty everthing from SSB 64 and SSB Melee returns or comes back in Brawl!

I just think customizing what button does what is a neccesity in most video games, if not all. That one thing that minorly hurts SSB 64 and Melee. It would be just a little better, plus it not that hard to make, so it ends out being worth it.

personally, i'd hate to use the classic controller just because of where the analog sticks are placed...
