I currently have the following setup for my controls (i main pit)

wiimote and nunchuk:

a: attack
b: special
a+b: grab
c: jump
z: Shield
Dpad: I set the dpad up so that when i press the d pad in a direction, i smash in that direction.
shake smash: off
Tap jump: on.
1: up taunt
2: down taunt
1+2: side taunt

any suggestions on how to improve this control scheme?

I use the wiimote and nunchuk because it's very useful to have separate fingers on the attack and jump buttons, for glide attacks and such.

I use the dpad instead of shake smashing because shake smashing is far too awkward, and i frequently smash in reverse while trying to move the wiimote back to neutral.

any advice on how to improve this setup?

YESS!!! I am also a wiimote and nunchuck guy!!!! Here is my control scheme

Everything is default except:
jumptap off and Ddown is jump, no shake smash
I use Dleft for grabs

Works great for me and I think awesome for pit
