Competitive Battling: Style or Winning?

Stamping your library books.
I've recently started playing Shoddy Battle again, and I must say, it seems that everyone is using the same few Pokemon with the same few sets (Scarfchomp, Bronzong, Gyarados, Tyranitar, Skarmory, the typical way OUs). When I started Shoddy, I couldn't play a game without half of the team being test Pokemon.

It seems that people have decided on making winning-machine teams, and not teams with... style. What happened to the days where people liked to have fun and personality in their teamson Shoddy Battle?

And now I ask you: Do you use winner teams, or stylish teams?

On or off the ladder?

At this point, its pretty clear which pokemon are generally more effective than others. The weighted ladder usage has been pretty similar for a long time, which means that people are generally winning with the same pokemon.

I have around 10 teams. One for serious tournament matches. The other one is a pure-ice team that I use mostly for fun. I like using theme teams a lot, especially ones with a lot of weaknesses. I have a flying team that's almost done. So basically, I don't play to win unless it's a tournament.

Only 10?
I have about over 30 teams saved on my computer, some were trying to be serious, some were jokes.

I have 6 standard pokemon in my head if I really want to make a "serious" team, but otherwise I'm all up for style. Especially in ubers where I have 3 level 1's on a single team(and the logs to prove it's effectiveness).

I used to play really competitively but lately i just play for fun because a lot of teams are using the same pokemon and i feels like im battling the same person over and over again.

It depends whatyou're trying to do...I like the competition, so I play to win. Thankfully all of my Pokemon that I like are really good lol, but yeah if you're trying to play for style, you can't play to win at the same time.
