Thought I would share this news in case anyone missed it.

Throughout the month of March, Nintendo is running a promotion; if you buy a 3DS/3DS XL/2DS and one of six qualifying games and register them on Club Nintendo, you can get a free download of Pokemon X/Y.

Of course, Nintendo cannot track when you bought the system/games. So ultimately, the idea is that if you haven't registered your system and one of the six qualifying games on Club Nintendo yet, you can do so now and get a free downloadable copy of X or Y.

The six qualifying games are:
  • Mario Kart 7
  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
  • Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins
  • Yoshi's New Island

Seriously, Lego City but not Legend of Zelda? 5/6 Nintendo games, what the hell Nintendo.

Oh, maybe they didn't want the ALBW 3DS bundle to interfere, where one could squeeze by on cash by purchasing 2-in-1.

OH! I just may register my 3DS and Animal Crossing so I can have Y since I already purchased X. PERFECT.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Lego City is in the mix there.

I'm bummed 'cause I keep up-to-date on Club Nintendo stuff and so I already registered everything, so no free X for me. It's unfortunate, because I've been wanting to replay Gen VI but don't want to drop the $40 for X (and I'm certainly not resetting Y after all the work I did to fill the Pokedex), and this was a good opportunity to circumvent that. It's a cool deal, though; I'm glad they're doing it.
