Cloud Strife for Brawl

I think one of the third party characters should be from Square Enix, and I think Cloud is their coolest/most popular character they have. If he did show, do you think he should/will have FF7, KH, or AC appearance and moveset? I'd like to see Advent Children look, and his side special could be Fenrir, much like Wario's motorcycle.

I don't know if this accurate, but I've heard that Cloud's only appearance on a Nintendo console was in KH: Chain of Memories as a cameo. There's no way he'd make it in over the main character on that game; Sora, and Sora doesn't even have a good chance at all.

I much rather have Crono, Boko (the Chocobo) and Sora over Cloud.

But it wouldn't hurt to add him, though. Because I'm pretty sure I know what tune is gonna be playing at the end of Subspace Emmisary. You know what I'm talking about..

His chances are pretty low, though. Considering his only role in Nintendo was that of a mini-boss and a skill.

You're just saying Geno because you like him. I like Cloud, so i want him in. He's more popular than Geno.

But whatever, the only reason I'd want Geno in Brawl is, so that some songs from Super Mario RPG would get dragged in as well, such as the theme from Smithy's minions, Geno's woods, normal battle theme, and maybe Smithy's battle.

Actually I am not much of a Geno supporter. Quite the opposite in fact. I don't want ANY Square characters in.

But you can't deny that:

1. Geno is popular
2. He did star in a Mario game

That puts him further up than just about any other Square character.

And yes. Without Geno SMRPG would have been nothing. Basically, he was the only one that the story revolved around after you saved Peach, and you saved her in the third world. Sure, there were Mallow's parents as well, but it had little to do with the actual game, it's just the reason he stayed in your party.

The entire game revolved around the Star Road though, which means Geno.

A costar would fit more someone who sticks with you from second 0.1 to the last scenes of the game. Costar meaning there are two main characters. Geno is not a main character, he's a sidekick. You can tell by the fact that you can switch him out.

Superstar Saga is the perfect example of costarring characters. You can choose who takes the lead. It's one, or the other. In Mario RPG MARIO is in the lead always, and is the only character whom you cannot cast aside.

(Geno doesn't even appear illustrated on the box art, what kind of costar is he?)

Cloud Strife wont get in..I'm pretty sure he only starred on Playstation 2. The guys from FF12 have a better but slim to nil chance.

I never said he was the lead. I just said he had the most important story, and Mario (who was the lead) had, by far, the least important and most quickly resolved story.

mario and geno's goals were similar. if you havnt noticed, there are alot of nintendo character who dont speak, but they have freinds who do for them or tell them were to go.

Since I am uber fail and have not finished Twilight Princess out of laziness and the fact class gets in the way, I can't really comment much on that. However, it's not just that Geno speaks about his role and Mario does not.

I see how it relates, but I don't see how Mario and Geno's goals were similar since Mario's goal was save Peach. If anything, Bowser had the closest goal to Geno since he wanted Exor and Smithy out of the castle, which results in accomplishing Geno's goal.

Hahaha, if you recall correctly from your ***. You just made that "Sakurai said this" thing right there and then on the spot. Didn't you?

Truth be told, Cloud would be awesome for Brawl and while his chances are slim by going what Sakurai said about third parties (which I hasten to add was actually before development of the game had started proper) I still think he could be the big 3rd party surprise that Sakurai has up his sleeve.

But we're all biased here. We can try and be as balanced as we like but in the end it all comes down to whether we want Cloud in or not.

Cloud would be awesome. But so would Ryu from Street Fighter. And Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow from Gunstar Heroes. There chances may be slim but if you want them in you big 'em up as much as possible and if you don't want you in you make up supposed quotes of Sakurai that mysteriously fits in with your argument... I'm looking at you error_alt_delete.
