he plays relatively rough huh,
i spose that swhy he is in top 15....
no wonder u got blammed up a notch... lol
id like to play tope at some stage... id like to see how i compare...
Yeah, he's pretty good...his entire crew (Team Richmond) is...that, and this is only my second ever tourney...that didn't help...I'm gonna try and find some better ways to practice...that reminds me...*looks at next paragraph*

I can't find any local smashers I can visit on a regular basis (unless someone from Goochland wants to speak up now...), and I need practice...help? I know fighting the CPU doesn't help...would fighting a n00b be better? At least they could DI and be mindgamed, right? Should I just focus on adv. techs until I can find a skilled human to test combos on?

If you can get regular or even semi-regular training against Tope/Team Richmond, that would be the best way to train.

nods in agreement,
go the tope option,
but if your really stretched for people to play there is nothing wrong with the old compies...

Yeah...I'm jus' thinkin' 'bout what I'm gonna do on weeknights...I live pretty far away from Richmond (and I can't drive:urg:), so I can't go but every other weekend, and to tournies...but are you sure the CPU is an okay idea? I guess for combos, even though they don't DI...

basically i figure its like this...
if you cant land a combo on a level 1, then you cant land a combo....
any combo you do against a level 1 (di or not), u can still do that combo when the need arises...

so there fore fighting level 1s for tech skill is ok...
but if your fighting level1s or any computer for a serious challenge then thats probly not the way to go..

Practice all your moves either in training, or against a level 1 CPU. Do them until your brain hurts. Make sure you can do everything consistently.

I think you should work from the floor up. Approach - > WDs -> Combos

i think the reason most people come to these boards is to try and skip all that middle stuff out...,
theres no magic way to get good, especially when you play a space animal

tajem has a point, you need to work on the basic, rudimentary tech skill before trying to like combo or whatever

so, from the videos i can tell you know how to sh and DD, so practice your tech skill in this order, and NEVER in training mode, do it in infinite time with a lvl 1 comp, bc you cant use C-stick in training

1.) SHL
2.) Approach SHL
3.) Reverse SHL
4.) Shine Canceling
5.) WD + WL*
6.) SFFL'd aerials -> canceled shines*
7.) LHDL + LH aerials + LHWL
8.) Pillaring + WS
9.) Combos

*5 and 6 probably can be practiced at the same time

Yea, i find that this is probably the best way to work on tech skill and make the mind game development as smooth as possible.

when you get to stage 9, i'd say you should have a good amount of mind games + DI

DI is almost always up and towards the stage

Yah go print out one of those falco guides, and read it. It will proablly give you a new perspective on som things on the game. But other than that you just need to pratice more

@Kso: at this point, all that's left to do is practice...I know most of the advanced techs (yes, I can WD, I was just getting used to Falco when the vids were taken...I have finally gotten used to Falco's WD:bigthumbu), so all I need to do is practice and perfect...I'm not stopping until I got it all down;)...thanks Kso!

@B.A.R.S: thanks...I've already read the Falco guide, so all I really need to do is practice...

u need to shoot way more lasers and switch up ur approach

stop full jumping and double jumping around the stage

definitely practice the hell out of ur aerials to shine

you also won't have any mindgames or DI after practicing tech skill. you can only learn DI and mindgames from playing a variety of different match ups as well as different smashers

learning tech skill one at a time is good, but make sure to go back and but it all together. you should be able to transition from one technique to the next as naturally as possible

the best way to get better is to actually get some one better to train you. i've even trained kids over IM, having someone who actually knows that they are doing helping you is invaluable. advice on the boards can be good, but you can't really know who actually knows what they are talking about

and heres a link to one of my combos... this one doesnt work out but it mite give you some ideas....
you really care too much about post count =\ and think that post count means something.. it doesn't

But ANYWAYS!!! cinder, your SHL's do look a little slow, and you should work on shffl'ing. . . yes, i'm sure this is repititive to you, i'm sry hah :$ but practice makes perfect, right? :]

i love the boards, therefore a large post count at least in my opinion is important... i want to be a smash lord
each post shows how dedicated i am not just to the game but to everything that surrounds it....
and if you just wanna pull posts out of thin air to try and make me angry at you its workin...
u have just made a powerful nemesis....

and this thread is ages old now...
did u really read through it, cause if you did u would realise cinders skills have upped since the initial vids...

*bumps thread*

Granted, I'm saying I'm improving based on my practice against the CPU...however, through such practice, I've got comboing, SHL (all types), WD, WS, SC, LHL, and SHFFL'ing down (not quite perfect, but close)...all I really need to learn is tech chasing, mindgaming, and factoring DI into my combos...

I've got another tourney at Tope's on the second...I'll definately have some vids up...if nothing else, at least matches against my crewmate, Ice Tr4y...

Y'all can look forward to a much improved Falco...

Here's to not disappearing off the face of the Earth
Anyway...this may be the last you see of my Falco...I'm probably not gonna play Melee after Brawl comes out (hey, it's still gonna be competitive) and I'm switching over to Lucario...I may get a combo video out the day before Brawl, but no promises...

And sorry for the double XD

well, you don't laser spam really :$ and you should, that's falco's big thing dude. Also, i saw you do acouple random shines in the dair, idk what that was @_@, and at like. i think 1:24, when shiek was doing her A-A-A, you rolled out of the way and just wavedashed back... that was a perfect oppertunity to fsmash, even though shiek was at low percent, you could have attempted to combo, shffl'ng a dair--> shine, yea you know the rest...

but, keep up the work, even though brawl is coming out soon... lame :\
