Evolution and the Bible... two topics that have been debated about for years. As a Christian, there is no doubt in my mind that the world was created by some almighty being (God). My reasons for my belief are as follows:
1. The Big Bang theory doesn't convince me. It is an interesting theory made by men of science. However, I cannot be brought to believe that a right mixture of certain gasses combined to create an enormous universe. That is one huge Bang! Also...
2. The world and universe is much too intricate to have been made out of something as unstable as gas. Have you ever noticed how no two tigers have the same stripes, or how numerous stars are and how Earth was placed in the exact spot in the universe, on the precise axis, the right distance from the sun to support life? If the Earth were one mile closer or farthe away from the sun, all life on it would die (National Geographic)...
3. i have been raised to believe Creation and have looked into it myself...

But, the theory of evolution makes sense as well. My reasons for believing parts of evolution are as follows:
1. There is a remarkable resemblance in other animals that suggest a similarity, especially but not excluded to primates. (But, where did these resemblances come from?)
2. God could have created man through any process he wanted, whether he used millions of years of evolution or simply created man. The Bible says that we as humans are to obey God's Laws, it says nothing about understanding the way he works. I know it is cliche but, God works in mysterious ways.

But wait a minute, one may ask trying to be intelligent, doesn't the Bible say that God created everything in six days and rested on the seventh day?

Yes, that is true, however; what is time to God? A second to us may be an eternity to God. I believe that there was no real definition of a day in the beginning. Since the Bible was written by the hands of man who were told what to write by God, they may not have known what a day was. A day to God is enough time to do almost anything; a lifetime even.
3. Fossils suggest that animals have been living for millions of years, once again bringing up the concept of time to God. Fossils in the ground show that there is a definite order to species and evolutionary theory.
4. Many animals have been able to adapt to their habitats... ex. penguins, polar bears, clown fish, whales, etc.

These are just a start to my ideas and I would love to hear from both creationists and evolutionists to see what their thoughts are.
