I can't be the only one to prefer playing without the lines in the graphics, right? I know it's to make it stand out to the Wii U version, but all the models stand out much better and makes it look a little more like the Wii U version, which it improves it for me. Although, it tends to stand out too much sometimes, so I then use thin and thick lines when my eyes can't take it anymore. xP So scratch that, I actually like using the lines because it doesn't hurt my eyes as much. (yeah i'm sorta a flip-flop, lol.) Hmm... I guess I'll vote all 3 just cuz I like to switch around.

So tell me, what's your preference?

I turned them off, I don't think they look that good and to be honest I can see the characters just fine without them, even on the original, tiny 3DS screen.

Thick as they come. Although, having the game and played a ton of it I pretty much forget it even exists. I don't even think it matters, but I do keep it Thick & Juicy.

My preference used to be no outlines, but then I switched to thin after learning they can help with determining who is on which team. Plus, thin outlines aren't that bad compared to thick outlines, which is just an eyesore.

Oh yeah, didn't think of that. If I did it in for friends, I'd probably just stick to a character with the team color costume like in the previous Smash games. :p

Outlines show up in team battles regardless whether or not you have outlines on or off.

^Oh, didn't know. Thanks for clarifying.
Yeah, I thought the same thing when I first got the game, but I played some team games in Classic mode and immediately noticed.

Were they thick or thin? And also, does changing the lines to thin change the team match lines, or not?
I can't tell, I haven't even touched the thin option, I think it's automatically thick.

Okay just wondering. I'll check now.

EDIT: The outlines seem pretty thick in gameplay when you have none, but when you pause it they're thin. They're also thick even when you have thin on...

Possibly because color differentiation is important so they try to make it as visible as possible.

I think the outlines stay the same exact thickness, so if you zoom out, they look thicker, but if you zoom in, they appear thinner. At least that's how it applies to the Wii U version.

That makes sense and looks to be the case from a quick test I just did.

No outlines for me, since I can actually see the small characters. Plus, makes the smash models look much better.

I use "thick." The outlines are what captured my attention regarding Smash 3DS early on, before I thought I was going to even buy it. I suppose I enjoy the "graphic" look the lines give.

None. Everything looks 2D if I enable outlines and just looks odd. The jagged edges don't bother me much; it's either jagged models or jagged outlines really.

I have thin outlines so that I can see the models a little bit better. My eyesight is -4.75 in each eye and I don't think squinting at a small 3DS screen would be healthy for eyesight that's already bad.

No outlines. They aren't as bad as I thought they'd be pre-release, but they're still ugly Borderlands lines on a game that doesn't really need them.

Thin, because it's not too noticeable and it makes the models look less jagged (at least to me).

Thin because I'm red-green colorblind and sometimes the characters blend into the background without the outlines (Samus y u do dis 2 me).

I play it without outline. The characters looks more "3D-ish"

I play with a thin line because I don't have the XL so it's harder to see them on my tiny regular 3DS screen.

I immediately turned the outlines off when I initially booted up the game. :)

I go back and forth between thick and off. Thin just doesn't look good to me.
