Just a quick question: At this point in development do you think that they are still adding characters to the game? Or do you think that they have all the characters developed and are just working on balancing/tweaking etc...

Personally I think they already know all the characters in there.

They have the character arsenal, they're just deciding who should be in and who should be out.

They probably know all the characters that are going to be in-game but I don't think they've all been completely translated into code already. There are probably a few which still are missing a few moves and some whose moves might change due to bug testing and stuff.

Um... I feel that just about all of the important characters are already done, just some last minute tweaks.

Figuring out how much room they have left and maybe some last minute character ideas, ATs, items, stages etc.

The game should be done by now. All characters in. All modes in. All in. What they're probably doing now is checking for bugs and oversights.

At this point, it's pretty tough to add a full playable character by December.

Yeah that is a good point. There must want to spend a lot of time doing balancing as well.

Yeah because it's a console game they need to get it right the first time.I guess they could offer a downloadable patch like in PC games if some characters get way too strong.

Aww, I thought this was a topic about the actual character development during The Subspace Emissary.. :(

It'll be so cool to see how Link reacts to Yoshi ect..
Link: "ARAGHHSSZ GANNONSS MINIONNSS DIIIEISSS"

Yoshi: "yoshi! :D"

Link: "DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE"

but OT:

Yeah. Everythings done, just managing some of the bugs and glitches.

PLUS, they will probably rack in more sales around Xmas. so yeah...

For those of you who have experience with game development you should know that as of now the entire process is debugging, balancing, and a few other tweaks such as graphics or even perhaps GUI editing. Nothing that will result in the game being delayed or changed, just making the game more genuine.

Yeah, the game is most likely basically finished.
They are probably running obsessive tests in search of glitches and what-not at this point.

So basically all of the obsessive clamoring for certain characters being included in the game is worthless?
