Probably a dumb question, but can you switch the controls in tournament play? Like turn tap jump off for your name.

I know at the ones I go to yes, so I'd assume it depends on the tournament.

Not a dumb question. It depends on what tournament you are attending, but I've never not been allowed to. If you're a regular, your name will still be in the list, and if you're just entering the name, then politely ask your opponent to spare a short moment while you adjust your settings. Chances are, he/she will also need to.

Honestly no one should stop you, IMO its better if you can learn to just play default...but if you really prefer some mods like tap jump off, just make sure that you' practice making the changes quickly and it shouldn't be a problem.

So short answer, I've never been to one that wont let you change

I've been to two ever that would not let you modify your control settings before a match, but they were releatively small in attendence.
