Just list the changes you felt with Mario going from 2.1 to 2.5

Things I noticed first.

Cape - He falls so much faster after the second cape stall in 2.5
2.1 he could cape stall as many times as he like which really helped him
when hit into the air as well as help him advance towards the stage
when recovering either to up b to wall jump or even just to hang over
the edge a bit longer to sweet spot it.

Also in 2.5 the second cape can grab the ledge instantly if you're in range
2.1 it grabbed the ledge but took much longer to grab.
(I wish they put back the instant ledge grab from brawl)

Up B to Wall Jump - In 2.5 you can only do this once which makes
edge guarding Mario a lot easier
2.1 he can do it as many times as the user can time the wall jump
the first two are easy but the timing got more strict after.

Mario Tornado - Hard to tell if this changed I don't know if I'm right by
saying this but in 2.5 it seems much easier to get the perfect tornado
2.1 I feel you had to mash it much faster.

Anyone know of any changes besides these please do share.

Here's the official changelog for Mario from 2.1 to 2.5b. Overall I think it's good they nerfed his recovery. He could come back to the stage from pretty much anything that wasn't a wall/ceiling/floor KO in 2.1 and it made him OP. It was pretty awesome that he could stall like that in the air with his side B tho

Mario Change List
-Mario's Jump has the "hoo" sound effect added
-Mario's Down Throw increased slightly in knockback growth
-Mario's aerial Side B vertical momentum was adjusted
-Mario's Up B can no longer be walljumped out of infinitely when touching a wall at the start of Up B, leaving just the single use unconditional method of walljumping out of it
-Mario's Up B walljump no longer has additional walljump decay
-Mario's Down B no longer plummets when used directly after hitstun
