How did you get into the game?
Awhile back. Someone I met on the Champions forums had an extra one and gave it to me. I believe he got that one from a giveaway. There were occasional giveaways for Closed Beta keys, but that one is for Open Beta, which is today. Thing is, you must go through Fileplanet, and there is much traffic with it being the first day for Open Beta. Closed Beta players downloaded it directly from the official site, but the section is no longer valid since Closed Beta is no more.

So, I have to pay to get into the Open Beta via Fileplanet? That's the only way I see how to get the client.

So after some work, I found out this isn't an open beta at all, but a closed one, since to get into the actual game you have to either pre-order it or buy a subscription to file planet. Horribly lame either way.

Yeah there were numerous threads created on the matter. I had no idea you had to pay if you have an Open Beta key. I am guessing that was the main issue. Yeah, you would have to pay for the subscription on Fileplanet.

In other words, you would have to pay to get into some form of beta now, which I think is bogus. It releases on the 1st anyway, so if you are impatient then you don't have to worry. If you thought spam was bad on SWF, you got another thing coming.

Well, you can get the keys for free, but you have to pay to actually use it. This is not an open beta at all. If the game is still in beta, then there is no reason that I should have to pay a cent for it. I am helping them by testing the product that isn't ready yet.

I am contemplating buying the subscription to file planet or something, but as of now, I have no intention of ever paying money for this piece of **** game. Bad business practices do not need to be rewarded.

And this game is dead to me. I got the client, played for a while, and the tutorial is dreadfully boring and exactly like the other MMOs I have played.

What I have read most recently is most shocking. There is only one server (which is pretty much a death sentence if this game is even remotely popular), and you get a max of 8 characters (16 if you spend $200 at once!).

Screw that. This game is dead to me.
