can i start upthrow to aerialling immeidately or at low damages do I need to dthrow to techchase

umm...The usmash can help alot to any aerial from a dair.. U can uthrow to uair at over 30%

jump over the projectiles don't sheild roll them. Jumping is just safer is all

be careful of link's dair.

you can dair to gentlenmen him if the dair is shffled

Uair can combo him into knee along with the nair

this matchup is pretty tough for me though

Look at a Link main giving advice to C.Falcon users. Shame on me = (

Link is heavy enough that autokill for him is a pretty decent percent. With his quadruple/quintuple jump even if you send him flying, he'll probably make it back. I think Captain Falcon's generally at a disadvantage against Link, because if he misses something, he's effed. He's just the right weight that if Link grabs him and dthrows him, then utilts can get falcon before he can do much around 2-3 times, and maybe more if you screw up your DI.

Two big reason's are Link's priority and range. I know when I play C.Falcon's I generally have little problem with my approach, and even less stopping C.Falcon's approach.

Upb's can stop alot of Falcon's advances, and if fighting a proper Link, it'll probably turn into a semi spike that will send you flying a bit, and then a wall of projectiles come flying at you.

2 cents.

so autokill at like 100-120 probably off of upthrow:\ how disappointing...overall i didn't think the matchup was that bad..it annoyed me that link's nair cut through everything..but the projectiles were pretty slow over all...i felt like it was a lot easier to dodge the bombs than with most char..and the boommerang you can just swat away..i was mostly punishing lag though i guess..i dunno how i would go about punishing link if he went campy..it was small enough on the stage that i could just stay close enough that i'd bait the link into attacking..

but ya, i just had a lot of trouble killing..the lack of an autokill..i ended up just finding moments for random knees mostly...my combos (as a nonfalcon main) weren't really so stellar...and most of them kept comboing into things other than knee..which basically meant the link coming back and surviving a long time...random knees would get early percent kills but it's hard to fit them in with link's nair all over the place

Play agressive, grab, and finish combos. Something you should watch out for is that Links Uair >Any of Falcon's aerials. So try not attacking from on top of Link. . . unless your tech chasing.

I find it hard to edgeguard Link, then again most of the time I don't have to

80% - 115% (or so) Up-thorw -> knee
105% or higher Down-throw -> knee

at really high damages like 140% and above...just down throw Up-air and it will either kill him or set him up for easy edge guard
