Capture Card Help

Okay, so i have a laptop, and was wondering if a regular capture card would work with it. Well can it?

Also do I have to take my laptop with me wherever i want to record like i have to do with a gamebridge...?

Are you asking if a capture card for a desktop would work with a laptop? The answer is no if you're talking about the traditional capture card, which would be AGP, PCI, or PCI-E. You would want to find a capture card that would use USB, FireWire or whatever add-on slot your laptop has (PCMIA, ExpressCard, etc)
