Cant connect gamecube controller to pc

Hello, so i bought a wii u adaptor for pc and have dolphin and melee installed however i cannot get the controller to work or be detected by dolphin. i installed zadig and it wont find a WUP device but shows gamecube controller adaptor. Not too sure what to do.

I would uninstall everything under 'Universal Serial Bus devices,' making sure the driver software is also deleted. Then, I'd unplug the adapter, restart my computer, and then plug in the adapter again. Open up Zadig and try to reinstall the driver. This is kind of a weird series of trial and error to fix, so please let me know if you have any questions.
