Can you jump off the bike on land?

It seems I can jump off in the air, but I'm a bit SOL on the ground. Am I doing it wrong?

You can jump off no matter where the bike is.

Is the input any different? It seems when I doubletap X or Y on the ground I never hop off. When I do it in the air I jump off pretty late, but I still get off none-the-less.

only reason you wouldn't be able to jump is if you're doing the wheelie, so don't press up if you want to jump immediately.
