Can we get actual endings for Classic Mode this time?

And no, I'm not talking about usual still framed 3 second long endings we get in fighting games. I mean proper, animated endings this time. Think about all the proper character interactions we could get to see, rather than a single framed bit at the end of characters acting like *******.

Here are my ideas:

Little Mac (Little Mac is walking along in his pink hoody, when Super Macho Man shows up and knocks him off his bike, and starts complaining about how Mac ruined his image. Mac gets up, and thinks back to what the strange blue and red racer dude taught him. Mac rears back, puts on the replica helmet Captain Falcon gave him, and FALCON PUNCHES Macho Man's ass into space.)

Mega Man (Mega Man is cleaning his helmet after a fierce fight against Master Hand while talking to Sonic. Doctor Light then bursts in and tells them that Doctor Wily is attacking the city in one of his machines. Mega Man and Sonic race to the city and begin to fight Doctor Wily together.)

Sonic (Sonic is running though Green Hill Zone while beating up Badniks. Sonic opens up the capsule at the end of the level to reveal hundreds of Pikmin. Sonic then orders the Pikmin to attack Eggman.)

I'll happily accept anything that isn't a half-***ed montage of the character doing insultingly simple actions followed by a still congratulations image that can easily replicated with Camera mode.

Little Mac's could be similar to the training cutscenes from Punch Out!! with different versions depending on the difficulty you've selected.

Maybe there could be different endings for different difficulties. Like how the announcer said "wow! incredible!" when you beat classic/adventure on the hardest difficulty. It'd encourage playing again on harder difficulties to get more endings. (May be a bit too much work for 100+ endings though, maybe 2-3 depending on difficulty?

I'm always up for improvements! Here's an idea:

Villager - The Villager is walking along, catching bugs when the Bug Catcher from Pokemon show up. Both look surprised, but the Villager drops a Pokeball from one of the item battles. Bug Catcher thinks it's a challenge, and sends out a few Beedrills, which proceed to chase the Villager.

Here's one for Toon Link:

Toon Link is sailing on the Pirate Ship, leaving Smash Bros. and returning to the Great Sea.
Suddenly, a noise is heard under deck. Toon Link goes to investigate. It turns out to be Pokemon Trainer's Squirtle who got trapped in the ship.
Toon Link sighs, smiling, and turns the ship around to a new direction, seemingly going to return the Pokemon.

And one for Luigi as well:

Luigi, Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Rosalina are strolling along the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario, Peach, and Yoshi are talking with Rosalina, who is using her powers to show everyone a floating Beam Sword they took home. Everyone is interested in Rosalina, while Luigi is left behind.
Suddenly, Rosalina accidentally drops some items. One of them is a Mega Mushroom, and Luigi smiles.
The scene ends with Luigi growing large and looking over the others (who are still distracted) ominously.

Heck, I'll toss in one for Rosalina too.

Rosalina and Luma dissolve into galaxy dust and teleport back to the Observatory, where the Luma's welcome her home.
Suddenly, the Lumas turn, looking at someone in the crowd. Kirby is kicked forward by a Luma, and they all stare at him. Kirby looks up with his blank face, and Rosalina smiles.
The scene ends with Kirby on a Warp Star flying back home with a Luma chasing after him.

That would be neat. Classic Mode could get a Soul Calibur-esque storyline where every character's goal is to find and wield some awesome power, so some of the fun in clearing Classic as a given character is to see their ending and their use of the power.

I really like that idea. But what would this power be? Any ideas?

This is the preferable option of course, and is actually quite likely once you consider Sakurai isn't doing SSE cutscenes. I would also be very happy with 64-style splash screens if that isn't an option.

I like the Congratulations Screen....
But maybe in Classic Mode, it's a quest for the Smash Ball and to unlock your inner potential and see what you are actually capable of for the first time.
Each character will be in awe of their full power.

Well, Classic Mode always ends with a fight against Master Hand (and sometimes Crazy Hand). Maybe defeating him/them represents the character reaching their true potential.

I think it'd fit more for the Adventure Mode, it'd give it a bit more personality instead of being as stale as the Melee one, and it'd give you an actual reason to go through it with all the characters. I do like the idea generally though, as long as the cutscenes remain short and don't take up too much work.

Captain Falcon:

The captain is fighting fiercely against Master Hand. At one point Crazy Hand appears and with Master they start attacking Falcon with their usual attacks. Falcon is hit and seems like he's losing, when he manages to hit Master Hand with his knee and send her back. Then, he takes Crazy Hand and WEARS HER in his right hand. Close-up of Falcon who says: "Crazy Hand... It's sooo bad." and then he loads it: "FAAAAAALCOOOOON...". Audio turns off. Colors turns off. Falcon's lips clearly form the word "punch" while he hits Master Hand with his Crazy Hand powered special move. The light is too strong. 99% of the screen is just blank white with a few lines here and there which just hint what's really happening. 2001's audio track starts off, slowly, with a very low volume at the beginning, but exponentially higher every second it passes. Random colors start blinking into the screen. Images with inconceivable (or forgotten?) meanings appear one after another without any apparent reason. The dark, unreachable edges of the universe. The obscure, forbidden laws of time. The null, formless regions of the mind. The audio is stronger now. It starts to become unbearable. Captain Falcon's face appears on the screen, looking directly in front of it. Does he see what's outside the screen? Does he see me?
What's that? Is he saying something? It's barely audible, but his lips are moving. The audio is covering his words, I... I can't... I CAN'T HEAR HIM. Suddenly the audio stops. Finally, my ears are at rest. Falcon smiles, then whispers: "Show me your moves...".
Tokyo, Japan. Nintendo headquarters. 11 AM. Sakurai is sitting at his desk, without moving. He smiles. He seems content. But he's not alone. Behind him, invisible to any other eyes, there's a presence. It's a monster of vaguely anthropoid outline. His tentacles surround Sakurai's hands and feet, bounding him to the chair. He can't escape. He has to go on. His smiling, content face doesn't betray any other feelings, but we know what he's thinking. Deep down, in the most unattainable lands of our conscience, we hear him:

Considering how Bandai Namco is working on the game, I really want to see the same sort of awesome character endings as the Tekken games.

The only appropriate one for Captain Falcon is a CGI re-imagining of this:

The bus rolls up to the bus stop, and the town's animal villagers watch in suspense. Kapp'n makes the door open, and Villager walks out with a triumphant smile (and a few band-aids). The animals all clap while Villager awkwardly does the Bashfulness emote. Everyone group hugs, and Tom Nook arrives. Everyone suddenly changes to a scared/worried face. Tom Nook does a serious of emotes that express something along the lines of "No no! That's not what I'm here for! Come over here, champ!". Tom Nook then rests his hands on Villager's shoulder, similar to how your repulsive and/or awkward uncle would do. He has a smile on his face, and Villager cheers up. Villager then takes out a party popper, and pops it! Everyone then does that one dance/whistle the Town Tune combo, the Town Tune being the first 9 notes of Brawl's theme ("I've heard legends of that person."). The camera slowly rises, passing by butterflies, fresh spring leaves in the wind, and Pete. Eventually reaching space, where constellations of cute shapes (Hearts, zig-zags, the iconic furniture leaf, etc.), and Gulliver's UfO are seen. Wishy the Star passes by, and sparkles as if a wish was just made. The outro to Go K.K. Rider plays.

I'm all for character interactions, but I don't want it in Classic mode. Classic mode is like arcade mode: you turn it on, you play though it, you get a congratulation montage, and you're done. Sweet. Simple.

Save the character interactions for Adventure mode or something else.

Exactly, as character specific endings usually appear at the end of acade mode, not adventure mode, so you just kinda reinforced my point.

any ideas on what Pikachu's ending could be
Pikachu:

The fierce battle against Master Hand is coming to an end. Master Hand manages to slap the king of the pokémons one last time before the little yellow rat goes all "PIKAAAAAAA" and a thunder breaks the clouds claiming the Master's life. One final laugh of Master Hand while he dies, and Pikachu is the winner. But, what's that? Is that a thunderstone? Pikachu gets close to the stone and touches it. Pikachu seems happy and ready to get to the next stage. But his content smirk suddenly turns into an expression of anguish and desperation. He's feeling pain. Atrocious pain. "PIKAAAAAA" he languishes in terror, while his body starts its utter, disgusting transformation. The nails fall off followed by a river of blood, leaving open flesh visible. The teeth grow so much that the little rat can't possibly keep them in its mouth: the gums and lips get torn by his new jaws, excruciatingly slow. Pikachu's back is pulsating. The pain is too much, he lets himself fall over. Suddenly, metal tubes break the skin of his back and start moving willingly without any control. Another scream which slowly gets deeper and hoarse. It's not the voice we all recognize, it's a terrifying and disturbing hollow from the beyond. The ears and tail are next. They fall off, simply detaching themselves from its head and back. Once they touch the ground, they start boiling and dissolve, like they never existed. The legs and arms of the once joyfully pokémon are starting to melt and unite themselves to the body. His right arm makes a final desperate attempt to avoid that horrible destiny, but some kind of force brings it closer to his body. He's now a formless torso with a disrupt face. Crawlers start appearing instead of the limbs, breaking the skin and creating a pool of blood where the aching creature is laying almost dead. The pokémon we once knew as Pikachu is gargling, like he's accepting his fate, but another utterly atrocious transformation brings him to the edge once again: his muzzle stretches and becomes a gun barrel. His anguish now resonates in the empty tube. His eyes are the only things remaining. They move back and forth, from left to right, desperate, hopeless. The skin of his eyelids start slowly covering his eyeballs. This causes yet another excruciating pain, but he has no voice left to express it. The pupils are almost covered by the skin which is closing: they grasp at that little whiff of freedom they have left, and then the skin is closed. What was once Pikachu is now a bloody machine of destruction. The composite bulk of skin and metal is still, but we can still hear his heart pounding. The heartbeat starts to slow down. There's complete silence aside of that. The beat echoes in the void of Final Destination, first every five seconds. Then every ten seconds. Twenty seconds. It stopped. One final line appears on the image left:

Congratulations for beating the Classic Mode with Pikachu! As a reward, PikaTank joins the battle!

Mario:

The Italian plumber has reached Final Destination and is battling with Master Hand. Fiercely. After a brief struggle, Mario manages to land the final punch, defeating the Hand, which laughs maniacally while crushing on the platform. Mario starts to jump and yell, celebrating his success, but a cry from the edges of the stage stops the party. "Oh no, Mario! Look!". It's Luigi, which is distraught. He's looking Master Hand for some reason. Mario looks in the same direction and notices what will be one of the most recurrent images of his nightmares from now on: Peach is under Master Hand, her body crushed by his weight, blood gargling out of her mouth. "Oh no!" shouts Mario, running towards her in tears and taking her hands. "Ma-Mario...". Peach is weak, life is escaping from her eyes. "What... What have I done...". Peach coughs a couple of drops of blood, then smiles, caressing Mario's cheek. "You've been brave, Mario... Do not forget me...". Luigi takes off his hat and tries to hide his commotion. Mario shakes his head, he doesn't want to believe what's happening. In the deep, eternal silence of Final Destination, Peach's life flies away.
We're inside a Mushroom house. The curtains are all closed, not a single ray of the Sun manages to pass through. Mario sits on a chair. His mustache has been accompanied by a thick, filthy beard. He has a beer in his hand, and dozens of empty cans surround him. He's staring at a picture of Peach, his eyes wet. The door suddenly creaks and slowly opens, but it's like he doesn't even notice that. Luigi, Daisy, Rosalina, Yoshi and Wario all enter the house. They're dressed in black. They look around, the house completely dirty, all the furniture in disorder. "Brother, you should come to the service...". Mario doesn't answer. Wario and Yoshi start to weep a little bit, and comfort each other with an hug. Daisy tries to talk to Mario: "You have to fight back, Mario... She would've want you to be like this.". Mario's eyes are lifeless, but his mouth moves: "I fought for her all my life... And it's the fighting that took her away from me.". A thunder cracks, and the sound of rain covers the entire scene.
Mario is now in front of Bowser's castle. The rain and the wind are strong, but his eyes are determinate. He's staring at the tower. Bowser is sitting at his throne. All his soldiers are in complete silence, they seem afraid to speak up. A bottle of brandy in his hand. Water in his eyes. The great door opens, and Mario enters the room. Bowser opens his eyes wide, angry and surprised. "You!". Bowser runs towards Mario, screaming. He hits the plumber in the face. Blood and teeth get launched out of his mouth. Mario doesn't react. Bowser hits him again, stronger than before. "You killed her! You killed her!". Bowser continues to hit him, but after a while he notices that Mario doesn't react in any way. The plumber is now on the ground, the face completely disfigured by the beating. A pool of blood surrounds him. "What are you waiting for?" Mario shouts, in tears. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOOOOOOOR?". Bowser charges another punch, but then he shook his head. They're both crying. They hug.
Mushroom Kingdom, year 2025. Mario, Luigi, Daisy and Rosalina are making a pic nic in Acorn Plains. Luigi and Daisy finally got married and had a kid, Giuseppe. He's running through the fields, playing with a bunch of Yoshis. Mario has learned to cope with his loss, and with the help of Rosalina, which has become more than a friend for him, has started to accept the fact that he had no role in the Princess' death. That didn't stop the nightmares though. Every once in a while, he still woke up from his sleep, covered in sweat. He often dreamed his last mission. He defeated every enemy that life presented to him, except one. The Great Enemy, Death, was still undefeated. That was his mission, in his dreams. He got across every peril, every danger. Nobody could stop him. He was invincible. No pit could take him down. No fire could burn him. No Koopa could hit him. But even though all that, when he reached the final room of his travel, the answer was always the same:

I'm sorry, but our Princess is in another castle.

You do realize that this is a nintendo game right???

I'd love for CG endings. The endings are a perfect place for fanservice where the characters interact with each other.

I can only start to imagine how amazingly fun the endings for the villains would be.

Ganondorf making a perverted throne out of Masterhand whilst watching the evil aura around him take over the stages, only to end the shot with a gate slamming closed as he grins directly in the camera.

Bowser finally getting married to Peach in a cage and everyone in the ceremony is tied up in a cartoony fashion.

And I don't think I even WANT to imagine what Wario would do.

Hello? Did anyone read dis one?
