i seriously think that my n64 laggs. it seems like 50-55 frames instead of 60.

i dont believe that my TV is contributing to this lag in anyway note: its a tube tv

um... They lag a bit with four players. But I've never heard of an N64 lagging in any other circumstance.

Older systems/games tend to lag at times. Mainly because it's trying to process many actions at once. EX: Black hole glitch in Melee.

I hear they're releasing N64's freshly new again to fix this lag issue you're having. Just check in with your gaming store about it every once in a while to see if they have them in :)

A N64 will have short drops in frame rate playing SSB occasionally, it depends on the stage and amount of players.

With 4 players it usually isn't to bad unless you are on a large stage and at least 2 of the players are on opposite sides of the map.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
Or you spam link's Bombs + other projectiles. I did a Link challenge earlier today (team attack off, B moves only), and we had over 10 bombs at times. The game's lag was very noticeable (though still playable). Plus, we were on opposite sides of Hyrule at the time... so basically everything that can go wrong.

It does lag... but that's when there's lots of stuff happening at once.

Yeah N64s definitely can lag. Usually it is a small frame rate drop until the moves or graphics that are causing it end. With samus i've had lagging with my forward air (flame) and up B, for me it never lasts longer than the move and doesn't affect gameplay. Items being used could contribute more, just like more players. It is rare for it to become a problem that affects gameplay though.

PAL console is def laggy. It lags on big stages with 4 players, it lags on small stages with 4 players + a big pokemon. No team battle without lag -.-
