The whole IASA idea is something i've thought of before. It can potentially deeply increase the depth of all characters if used right. It'd also be a welcome edition for mashers and people like my friends who'd rather not learn L cancelling a few months before smash 4, but prefer the speed granted by them. (The current remedy is an auto L cancel code)

I'm quite fine with CPUs being able to cheat, but if that's the intent, the inputs shouldn't be available for human players.

That said, the CPUs didn't L-cancel or Wavedash in Melee (though the lack of visual indicator on L-canceling makes me less than sure of that). Maybe if they had, I'd feel less bad about not discovering either technique in eight years of play without going online to find out.
Back before the days of online multiplayer, there were Easter Eggs and such that were overpowered everywhere. Bond's invinciblity anyone? Now such things don't happen anymore, and I'd say L-canceling was this after they stopped using it in Melee.Wavedashing was a glitch, nothing more.

You never know, they might still implement L-cancelling into the game. It was intentionally added into Melee, right?
It was intentional, but why was it added in the first place? I highly doubt Sakurai added it specifically for competitive players, and I don't think he would add it in again because it poses the same problem as cheat codes in multiplayer games: Know the code to win, don't know the code to lose. I'd say he doesn't want a barrier like that to just have one.

I think it was intentional in Melee because it was intentional (and stronger) in Smash64. Melee's was just a weaker version of 64's, which notably removed all of the move's landing lag.

Why not just make landing lag low for characters who are gonna be more aerial and not not low for ones who shouldn't.

Add variety and differences in playstyle.
