Just want to know before I get it if I can play the Wii U version using only the GamePad. Will things like Stage Builder work with that, too?

I am playing it on the Gamepad at the moment, because I don't have a TV in my room, the place I find the most comfortable to play

Playing on the TV is miles better, tho

You could even use a computer monitor if you want. That's what I'm doing, and I can switch between my PC and Wii U with just a couple buttons.

Sooo...how does one play using the gamepad only?
Gamepad has a screen that streams what's going on had you been in front of an actual TV. You can use the gamepad as a small monitor and still be able to use any controller you want.

1. Turn on the Wii U.
2. Grab your gamepad.
My Wii U isn't even plugged into a TV, and it automatically just shows me the character percentages and whatnot when I enter a smash match. Same thing happens with Hyrule Warriors, but atleast for that game I just need to press "-" and everything goes to my gamepad, however that method doesn't seem to work here.

Tap the screen during a match.
