Sorry if this has already been said.
I am referring to the characters in the games disk that aren't complete. (Doctor Mario, Roy, Mewtwo...)

Do they models, songs, Final smashes etc.

Nope, all the data is scraped. All that remains is a header inside those files.

Urgh!!!

Why would they do that? Just be lazy and leave them in! Like the songs.

Please tell me you aren't one of those ones who believes the unused songs are still on the disc...Because they aren't. It was a list of songs, and the stuff you find on Youtube is merely fan renditions/not from Brawl.

I think nintendo just left that in to screw us over.
Probably knowing hackers will look into the CD.

Now, what would happen if they cleaned the disk before release?

Nintendo actually tried to put these characters into the game, but there wasn't enough time to finish them (models, textures, voices, animations, etc. It is really hard and time consuming to make these various things.)

I mean, they already delayed the game to finish it! But there wasn't enough time to add more characters.

I'm glad I'm still sane enough to read this post, because I swear that everyone else on the internet thinks that those songs are ripped from the game. All it takes is one person to mislabel a song and suddenly thousands of people are misguided without realizing it.

No, there's really nothing salvageable from the remnants of the "hidden" characters. There are folders for them and little tiny files a few bytes large, not even really enough to hold one texture sheet. Certainly not enough for us to drag them out and make them playable. It's not like most other games where they make a weapon or stage for testing and then erase it, but leave it on the disk - they never got far enough with the empty characters for there to be anything there. Just names and the fact that they might have been playable.

Wading through the sea of internet idiocy and remaining completely sane is a skill few have accomplished, and I've been trying to hold on to mine since 1997!

Here's to another 13 years of sheeple!
(BTW: Weird Al on old Gnutella P2P's and that Zelda song ring a few bells of "all it takes")

On-topic: As was said, there is literally nothing left of the characters.
