I find this truth to be self evident. Crosses all game genre’s and is applicable everywhere.

Campers will always complain about someone camping them. They will complain until you learn to approach them in their campy, posted up, turtle, hideout. When you finally learn to approach through all of their spam and defenses they will assert that the game you are playing is not fair because the style, character, weapon, or opening (chess) you use is unfair, that aggressive play is overpowered and to easy to use, and after you have perfected the art of approaching the camper every time they accuse you of being cheap.

Campers will assert the dominance of camping everywhere they can while it seems to have a slight advantage. And bemoan aggressive play when people finally find a way around it. Camping didn’t work for France in 1940. Camping lost Anatoly Karpov the Chess world championship in 1985.

Great campers are seldom remembered and often infamously. We remember Fischer, Napoleon, Alexander, Kasparov, and Genghis Khan, for to be successful at hiding and running is neither great nor memorable but to tear through the greatest defenses the world and your opponent can throw at you is brilliant and for lack of a better phrase great.
