Captain Falcon is not good on this game. So let's just get the record straight before I decide to explain. It's nothing to really help him when I talk about Brinstar (Melee) or move him up on the tier list. Because honestly it's just too much work for little rewards. Although I have made a lil discovery of my own, but i'm not sure if this is old news to most smashers. If so close thread.

Messing around in casuals with Falcon on Brinstar I slowly started to notice that Falcon is really, really good on Brinstar.

:ohwell:Now I know what you're thinking. Okay legend you scrub it's called counter-picking with effective advantages with that particular character. What I'm trying to say is Brinstar fixes the major problems with Falcon.

He is like seriously good on Brinstar. Like everything that is wrong with Falcon (damage output, combo lacking, landing attacks on certain characters) The stage works in his favor to cover his behind for the player's mistake. Every time you miss an aerial or it is blocked the terrain makes Falcon slide away from the opponent so they won't be able to punish you. You can apply a lot of mix-ups, his mobility on the terrain sets up for nasty situations so you gain an advantage. Aerial Falcon Boost after being blocked he does the leapfrog effect, right? Usually on a flat stage he would get punished easily for that. Brinstar saves him from getting punished---be it by one of the 2 side platforms to hop so he can guard, shield grab, or recover quicker to neutral state,, the un-even terrain on the bottom platform, or just go by the edge to camp by the strings that takes hits that hold the platforms together.

There are few moves even the best characters could punish you for. So far that's d-air, a missed up smash, and whiffing an attack, of course. Also because of the way the stage is made he can actually get some 0 to death combos on some characters. Since the stage is small, and he's fast he can continue a aerial combo without fear of them getting loose depending on how you position yourself. Knees are very easy to land on this stage. The screen is so small about maybe 2 or 3 good knees right be the edge can kill if their % is high enough. He can 0 to death combo with a knee finisher to these characters tested with human players so far. Dedede, Bowser, Zelda, Charizard, Snake, and Ike. That's all I have right now.

One last major note and I'm done. This stage is in my humble opinion a good counter to metaknights with Falcon. Probably not good ones (I'll test it soon), but scrubby ones. A scrubby metaknight can't spam neutral b on this stage, up-b, or forward b on this stage against Falcon. He can be easily punished here's why.

Neutral B-You can easily manuever around the stage to avoid it, and if he messes up he can break the balls at the bottom platform to fall to his death. If he decides to do it at the top of the stage wait for him to finish, and just knee him. Metaknight is the 4th lightest so he'll die very easily on this stage after a knee at a low %.

Up B-Basically, he really has no where to really land after the attack without getting some type of punishment seeing as Falcon speed makes up for a possible missed opportunity.

Forward B-I see it really not used much anyway. But here it would be suicide. Just to keepaway from a possible massive damage he will most likely kill himself doing this.

Well like I said really these are just pros for what I've experimented with on this stage with Falcon, and what I was able to do on it without any real mistakes in a match. All characters have their major buffs on stages, but imo Falcon just seems to get a whole lot better. Just test these things out on a good opponent, and just give a reply in here to see if I'm at least on the right track.

edit: If you don't understand what I'm saying I'll have a video up showing what I mean later tonight.

good MK's won't do grounded tornados and will avoid doing it on the bridge.

though, on one wifi match I had against Overswarm's MK, he had gotten a really low % kill on me, so he used Tornado in one place to 'taunt'.

the one place was the bridge, and he fell to his death and ensued many lulz.

he still won though D;
